Position: Registered Psychotherapist/Social Worker

Hours of Work: Monday - Friday, 8:30-4:30 with possibility of some evening work

Job Summary

Brenna Lanktree and Associates, Inc. is a neurodiverse affirming, multidisciplinary practice that offers ABA therapy, psychotherapy, and psychological assessments for children and youth with autism and related exceptionalities, and their families. Our team of Board Certified Behaviour Analysts, Psychologist, and psychotherapists provides evidence-based services and places high emphasis on professional development and growth. We are currently expanding our mental health services to the community of Sault Ste. Marie and surrounding areas.

Working under the direction of the Clinical Director and Supervising Psychologist, the psychotherapist conducts assessments and provides individual therapy and case management (in accordance with evidence-based practices) to children and youth with autism and related exceptionalities, and their family members. The psychotherapist is responsible for the development of treatment plans and ensuring that the recommended treatment goals are implemented in a holistic, effective, and evidence-based manner. This role also requires the psychotherapist to engage in programs that are ABA service-based and assist in overseeing front line staff with implementing behavioural strategies.

Under the supervision of a Behaviour Analyst, the Psychotherapist will be required to work with front line staff to aid in the implementation of ABA service-based behavioural programs and strategies.

Responsibilities

  1. Conduct initial assessments to evaluate clients' mental health needs
  2. Develop personalized treatment plans based on clients' goals and needs
  3. Maintain accurate and up-to-date client records
  4. Monitor client progress and adjust treatment plans as needed
  5. Provide crisis intervention when necessary
  6. Knowledge and skill in Solution Focused Brief Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and Cognitive Behaviour Therapy
  7. Make clinical decisions and exercise judgment to ensure best possible care is provided
  8. Be knowledgeable of the community and the resources available
  9. Participate and collaborate with other health team members and community health care providers/agencies (with patient informed consent) in provision of client care
  10. Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills with proven ability to approach, listen, build trust, and communicate across diverse cultures and intersectionality.
  11. Exhibit a willingness to continually improve understanding around cultural competence and different elements of diversity, such as gender identity/expression, race/cultural background, religion, sexual orientation, disability, immigration and precarious status, family status, etc.

Qualifications

  1. Must have a Masters degree in the related field.
  2. Registered with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario as an RP or RP (Qualifying)
  3. Must be registered with The Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers
  4. Experience providing therapy to children and youth
  5. Experience with neurodiversity

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Expected hours: 35 – 44 per week
