Oak Tree Therapy
Oak Tree Therapy is a growing multi-disciplinary psychotherapy practice that provides mental health services and assessment in and around the Winnipeg area to adults, youth, children, and families. Oak Tree therapists use holistic, strength-based, anti-oppressive, and trauma-informed approaches when walking with clients along their healing journeys. These modalities include DBT, CBT, attachment therapy, play therapy, eye movement desensitization reprocessing, brainspotting, art therapy, family therapy, and narrative therapies.
Oak Tree Therapy is seeking to hire professionals in various fields, including speech and language pathologists, art therapists, play therapists, psychotherapists, counselors, psychologists, marriage and family therapists, social workers, addiction counselors, and psychiatric nurses.
Accountabilities:
- Provide exceptional counseling services and interventions to address identified client goals, increase functioning, and support overall wellness.
- Knowledge and experience in the areas of trauma, depression, anxiety, abuse, loss, grief, self-esteem, suicide, and addiction.
- Must practice cultural humility and have knowledge and understanding when working with diverse populations. Willing to engage in self-reflective practice and supervision.
- An understanding and knowledge regarding the comprehensive issues relating to colonization, intergenerational trauma, and residential school trauma.
- Able to work with children, adult individuals, couples, and families.
- Experience and knowledge using a variety of play therapy techniques is considered an asset.
- Knowledge and experience within the child welfare system is considered an asset.
- Experience working with multiple collaterals and extensive networks is considered an asset.
- Adhere to professional standards and best practices in conjunction with those set out by Oak Tree Therapy.
- Maintain appropriate case notes, reports, and client documentation.
- Demonstrate strong interpersonal, organizational, and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently and within a team environment.
Requirements:
- Bachelor or Master’s degree in Social Work from an accredited university or college program, or within the final year of completing the program. Master's degree in Education, Psychology, Speech and Language Pathology, or Occupational Therapy. Or registration as a play therapist, art therapist, or other related therapy. Or experience and training as an addiction counselor. Related fields and training will be considered.
- Registration with a professional licensing body is preferred.
- Professional liability insurance coverage of $2,000,000.
- Excellent English verbal and written communication skills.
- Functional computer skills required.
- Must have a computer and internet access for day-to-day operations including access to: Microsoft Office, Adobe, e-mail, etc.
- A valid driver's license and personal vehicle. Travel is required.
- Criminal Records Check with Vulnerable Persons Sector (under three months old).
