Richmond Hospital is a fully accredited, 228 acute care bed facility serving a local population of 200,000 with an additional catchment area of almost 120,000. Richmond Hospital is focused on meeting the needs of the people it serves and is seeking a Psychiatrist to provide services to an adult population in a team-based model.
Richmond is the fourth most populous and fast-growing municipality in Metro Vancouver. To meet the growing demand for healthcare services, Vancouver Coastal Health (VCH) is ensuring we plan for the future. Richmond Hospital is undergoing plans for a campus-wide expansion and renewal. As announced in July 2020 by the Premier and Minister of Health, the aim is to build a new acute care tower. Incorporating modernized healthcare design principles, the new facility will provide increased inpatient care beds, perioperative services, medical imaging, and emergency services to support quality patient care and staff wellness and safety. Detailed planning is currently underway with a project completion target of 2028.
It is an expectation that a client-centered recovery-focused approach is followed along with engaging community partners like Mental Health Team, Assertive Community Treatment team, etc. Comprehensive care is provided in 2 west unit for the full spectrum of psychiatric disorders in the general adult population.
