We are seeking an Emergency Psychiatrist to join the Psychiatric Assessment Unit at the Vancouver General Hospital. As an Emergency Psychiatrist, you will provide comprehensive psychiatric assessment and care to patients presenting with acute mental health crises in our busy emergency department.

Responsibilities:

1. Conduct timely psychiatric assessments and formulation of treatment plans for patients in crisis.
2. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including emergency physicians, nurses, social workers, and psychiatric consultants to ensure coordinated care.
3. Provide crisis intervention and stabilization services to patients experiencing acute psychiatric symptoms.
4. Participate in teaching and supervision of medical students, residents, and fellows.

Qualifications:

• Education, Licensing, & Experience:
• Canadian Medical Protective Association (CMPA) - Mandatory
• Emergency Experience - Mandatory
• Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians of Canada (FRCPC) - Mandatory
