The Department of Families is seeking a qualified individual to fill the position of Provincial Training Specialist. The Provincial Training Specialist applies best practices principles in adult learning, uses sound instructional techniques while promoting a positive learning environment for staff.

Conditions of Employment:
- Must be legally entitled to work in Canada
- Must provide and maintain a satisfactory Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Search.
- Must be able to possess and maintain a valid full Class 5F Manitoba Driver's license with access to a personal vehicle.
- Must provide and maintain a satisfactory Adult Abuse Registry Check.
- Must provide and maintain a satisfactory Child Abuse Registry Check.
- Must be able to travel by ground and air across Manitoba with possible overnight stays, as required.
Qualifications:Essential:- Post secondary degree in Social Work, Education, Public Administration or related discipline. An equivalent combination of education and related experience may be considered.
- Experience facilitating and presenting training and/or education sessions with the ability to design, develop and deliver courses, workshops and/or training.
- Extensive and advanced level of knowledge of the Employment Income Assistance and Manitoba Supports for Persons with Disabilities programs and of the Acts, Regulations and policies related to other Department of Families’ program areas is required.
- Experience conducting research and analysis on legislation, regulations, policies and/or programs to make fact-based assessments or recommendations within a work setting.
- Advanced knowledge of adult education principles.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to establish priorities to meet changing and competing deadlines.
- Excellent interpersonal skills for building and maintaining positive working relationships with stakeholders.
- Superior verbal communication skills focusing on the ability to facilitate effective, engaging, and dynamic training programs.
- Strong written communication skills focusing on the ability to prepare training materials and written correspondence.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams, and PowerPoint).
Desired:- Knowledge of change management principles.
- Ability to read, write and verbally communicate in French.
Duties:As a training specialist, you will deliver and facilitate training sessions to a diverse range of staff from program areas across the Department of Families. You will play an integral role in researching, designing and developing curriculum and training materials. You will design courses by combining creativity, research and analysis to create a quality training product. You will work as a member of a small, collaborative team committed to continuous improvement and excellent client service.
