Our translation service is seeking a proofreader/editor for French-language documents.

Your key responsibilities

  • Proofreading financial documents (funds, financial statements, management’s discussion and analysis) and other types of documents (proposals, PowerPoint presentations, brochures), and correcting spelling, usage, grammar and syntax errors as per French-language conventions.
  • Thoroughly verifying formatting, checking numbers and ensuring all changes are correctly entered.
  • Managing several assignments and priorities at the same time.
  • Building effective communications with clients, and Practice and other service-line colleagues.

To qualify for the role you must

  • Hold a university degree at the undergraduate or graduate level in linguistics, literature, translation or a related field.
  • Have at least three years of experience in proofreading/editing in a structured and supervised professional environment (experience in the financial field is an asset).
  • Be able to work under pressure and under tight deadlines, within a dynamic team of versatile professionals.
  • Have an excellent command of French and a very good knowledge of English, a high degree of rigour and attention to detail.
  • This role involves interaction with clients operating nationally and globally where fluency in French and English is required. Bilingualism in both French and English is therefore a requirement of this role.
  • Be ready and willing to work outside normal business hours, as needed.
