Your role

Join our Yellowknife, NT team as a Project Manager with the Northern Canada Business Unit.

We are seeking an aspiring, self-motivated, and collaborative Project Manager to join our team of experts committed to leading projects and building relationships across our Northern Canada business unit.

In this role, you will collaborate closely with clients offering strategic guidance while contributing to impactful projects that elevate standards of living and improve quality of life through enhanced community infrastructure. Our team is dedicated to enhancing the well-being of northern communities, supporting reconciliation efforts, promoting economic opportunities, and fostering climate resilience and environmental stewardship. Responsibilities

1. Provide project leadership, representing clients’ best interests and help them achieve their strategic goals.
2. Take ownership of project set-up, initiation, execution, monitoring and reporting, close-out, and commissioning.
3. Demonstrate a commitment to improving the communities you work in by respecting local knowledge, customs, and the culture of the people, particularly Indigenous communities.
4. Serve as a mentor for Assistant Project Managers, helping them integrate into their roles.
5. Gain knowledge of Colliers’ service lines and actively promote these services to support clients effectively.
6. Build and maintain strong client relationships.
7. Execute tasks in compliance with the Quality Management System (QMS) to maintain high standards of work.
8. Support Indigenous communities in fostering economic growth through strategic land planning, land development, and business development initiatives.
9. Assist and support various orders of government in emergency preparedness and recovery efforts after climate-related disasters.
10. Collaborate with community leaders, stakeholders, funding partners, and design and construction professionals to plan and implement capital building and infrastructure projects.
11. Engage with diverse client groups, including various orders of government, Indigenous groups, private enterprise, and NGOs, across both public and private sectors.
12. Travel to project sites and remote communities may be required on occasion.

Qualifications

1. Minimum of 3-5 years of experience planning and delivering building and/or infrastructure projects.
2. A university degree or technical diploma in engineering or construction management (or an equivalent).
3. Familiarity with codes, regulations, contracts, construction administration, and site inspections.
4. Deep knowledge of various construction methodologies, project management processes, budget management, contract law, and relevant legislation.
5. Excellent written and verbal communication skills and a client-focused attitude.
6. Professional industry credentials such as PMP, P.Eng., CET, BET or similar industry-recognized designation.
7. Experience in fostering long-term client relationships and collaborating with community governments and Indigenous groups.
