TITLE

Project Manager/ Scrum Master

JOB PROFILE SUMMARY

We are looking for a passionate Project Manager/Scrum Master to join our Digital team. As a Project Manager in our company, you will be accountable for high-quality execution and delivery of new projects as well as ownership of our current products in a fully Agile/Scrum team environment.

RESPONSIBILITES

1. Manage all aspects of project management from discovery through delivery implementation and stabilization:
   1. Create and manage schedules, budgets, quality, communication, resource and risk management plans
   2. Provide the direction required to meet the project objectives and commitments
   3. Analyze and make decisions on projects, considering project benefits, scope, cost, schedule, and quality
   4. Prepare reports regarding status of project
   5. Ensure appropriate management of stakeholders throughout the project
2. Lead Scrum ceremonies such as daily Scrum standup meetings, sprint planning and retrospective sessions
3. Work with the Business Product Owner to define scope for MVP and subsequent releases
4. Work closely with IT Ops and Business Partners to manage effectively and efficiently resolution of incidents related to your portfolio of applications
5. Collaborate with the IT PMO to ensure compliance with project standards, processes, tools and methodology
6. Work with the BSD IT Partner to ensure compliance with engagement processes and business partner requirements
7. Oversee integration of the agile team's deliverables with the project at large, as well as how deliverables may have touchpoints in other sub-domains
8. Ensure all groups are being provided with timely and accurate project information such as reporting of project status, issues, risks

QUALIFICATIONS

1. Project Management: experienced in managing projects/programs of $1M or more, with overlapping phased releases
2. Comprehensive knowledge of Agile/ Scrum project management methodologies and tools, including JIRA, Pulse
3. Delivery and Product Support Management: experienced in delivery of new projects as well as providing end to end support for current products
4. Financial Management: strong understanding of key concepts of financial processes such as budgeting, forecasting, etc.

Advantageous to have

1. People management experience direct reports and influencing
2. Agile Product Owner experience
3. Process rationalization and simplification experience and expertise
4. Waterfall to agile transformation experience
5. Analytics driven continuous improvement

EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATIONS

1. Academic: Post-secondary degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, Technology or related field (required)
2. Certifications: PMP, Agile/Scrum (CSM, CSPO)

EXPERIENCE

1. 7+ years of experience in leading a range of mid-size to large initiatives with above-average levels of complexity and business criticality.
2. Technology development and development processes experience

OVERALL SKILLS ABILITIES

1. Facilitate and encourage collaboration in a cross-disciplinary Scrum team environment, across multiple projects and multiple locations
2. Excellent written and verbal communication skills
3. Strong time-management skills
4. Experience in Confluence/Jira would be an advantage

LOCATION

Remote for now. However, the contractor may have to go onsite on Ad hoc basis. If this happens, it can be from Ottawa or Toronto office

Start date: ASAP

End date: 1 year contract with possibility of extension
