Project Manager – Roofing and Exteriors

Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and hands-on Project Manager to oversee the planning, execution, and completion of roofing and exterior projects. This role requires an individual capable of managing multiple projects, maintaining high standards of quality, ensuring safety, and occasionally stepping in to assist with tasks to keep the project moving forward. The ideal candidate must be comfortable with heights and physically capable of climbing roofs to conduct inspections and assessments.

Key Responsibilities

1. Oversee and manage roofing and exterior projects from initiation through completion, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
2. Conduct roof inspections and project assessments, ensuring the scope of work is accurate and comprehensive.
3. Develop project schedules, monitor progress, and make adjustments as necessary to ensure timely project completion.
4. Communicate regularly with clients to provide updates, address concerns, and ensure customer satisfaction.
5. Coordinate and manage teams of subcontractors, roofers, and exterior specialists, ensuring all work is performed according to project specifications.
6. Ensure compliance with all safety regulations, including site inspections and enforcing safety protocols.
7. Solve on-site issues promptly, including taking a hands-on approach to complete tasks if needed.
8. Manage procurement of materials and ensure they are delivered to the site on time.
9. Track project expenses, prepare reports, and ensure projects stay within budget.
10. Handle any unforeseen problems and adjust project plans as necessary.
11. Ensure quality control on all projects, conducting final inspections to confirm all work meets company standards and customer expectations.

Skills and Qualifications

1. Previous experience in roofing, exterior construction, or a similar role, with a solid understanding of roofing systems and exterior work.
2. Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
3. Strong leadership skills, with the ability to lead teams, coordinate work, and make on-the-spot decisions.
4. Comfortable working at heights and performing occasional physical labor as needed.
5. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
6. Ability to read and interpret blueprints and project documents.
7. Solid understanding of project management tools and techniques.
8. Problem-solving skills, with a proactive approach to addressing project challenges.
9. Familiarity with local building codes and regulations.

Physical Requirements

1. Ability to climb ladders and work on rooftops.
2. Capable of lifting materials as needed for hands-on assistance.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in managing both residential and commercial roofing or exterior projects.
