On behalf of our Public Sector Client, Ignite Technical Resources is recruiting for a Project Manager to join our Client's team on a contract basis. This role is Hybrid and the Client is based in Burnaby, BC.
Summary of the Role:
This Project Manager will lead a key initiative aimed at transforming budget management practices. The project focuses on creating a standardized forecasting model, enhancing financial literacy and accountability, and maximizing the impact of a newly implemented Cashflow & Financial Forecasting System.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Manage all phases of multiple, concurrent projects from business case through evaluation.
- Lead project planning, execution, and delivery across organizational teams.
- Coordinate with stakeholders to define roles, responsibilities, and financial processes.
- Support implementation of forecasting models and financial systems.
- Facilitate cross-departmental consultation and change management initiatives.
Core Requirements:
- Minimum 5 years of full-cycle project management experience.
- Experience leading enterprise-wide initiatives in complex environments.
- Business case development, implementation, and evaluation experience.
- Strong knowledge of financial systems, reporting, and data management.
- Proficiency with both Agile and Waterfall project methodologies.
Desired Skills & Experience:
- Background in public sector finance.
- Experience with budgeting and forecasting tools.
- Familiarity with business intelligence and analytics implementations.
- Exposure to financial accountability frameworks.
- Change management experience in financial transformation contexts.
Terms:
This is a 6-month contract role with the possibility of extension. The position is hybrid, with occasional in-person sessions in Burnaby, B.C., averaging once per month. Client-provided hardware is preferred. Two references are required when a candidate is short-listed, and work examples may be submitted as part of the application. A background check will be conducted at the offer stage.
