Project Manager - Public Sector [BHJOB13022_13624]

On behalf of our Public Sector Client, Ignite Technical Resources is recruiting for a Project Manager to join our Client's team on a 12-month contract basis. This role is fully remote and the client is based in Victoria, BC.

Summary of the Role:

Our Client is seeking a skilled Project Manager to lead IT projects within the public sector. The role involves overseeing project planning, risk management, and stakeholder coordination to support a large-scale Treasury Management System modernization initiative.

Duties & Responsibilities:

1. Manage IT projects, including planning, execution, and risk assessment.
2. Develop project charters, master project plans, and risk management strategies.
3. Coordinate resources and contractors to achieve project objectives.
4. Engage diverse stakeholders and ensure effective project communication.
5. Oversee the modernization and replacement of mainframe systems with a new Treasury Management Solution (TMS).

Core Requirements:

1. Minimum three (3) years of experience as an IT Project Manager within the last seven years.
2. Experience managing IT projects within the public sector (preferred).
3. Proficiency with Microsoft Project and other project management tools.
4. Strong experience in risk management and stakeholder engagement.
5. Bachelor’s degree in IT, Engineering, or a related field OR relevant professional certifications (e.g., CA, CMC, CMA, CGA, CFA).

Desired Skills & Experience:

1. PMI Project Management Professional (PMP) designation (preferred).
2. Experience working on mainframe migration or treasury modernization projects.
3. Strong ability to manage cross-functional teams and external vendors.
4. Familiarity with banking industry standards and financial transactions.
5. Experience with public sector procurement and project governance.

Terms:

1. Employment Type: 12-month contract.
2. Work Location: Fully remote within BC.
