Job Responsibilities

The Project Manager is responsible for the coordination, implementation and execution of payroll projects according to strict deadlines and within budget. For Magna this role requires a strong analytical skillset to be able to work on business requirements together with our cross-functional business ensuring consistency with the Magna strategy, commitments and goals.

Major Responsibilities

1. Develop comprehensive project plans, including timelines, milestones, and resource allocation.
2. Manage project scope, budget and timelines goals and deliverables.
3. Collaboration with Senior Management.
4. Liaise with project stakeholders.
5. Track project tasks and resource using appropriate tools.
6. Identify and resolve issues and conflicts within the project team.
7. Lead and motivate project team members and influence them to take positive action and accountability for their assigned work.
8. Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies.
9. Monitor and manage risks throughout the project lifecycle.
10. Implement contingency plans as necessary.
11. Track project performance against established goals and KPIs.
12. Prepare and present regular progress reports to senior management.

Knowledge and Education

1. Experience with payroll software implementation or transformation projects.
2. Knowledge of relevant payroll regulations and compliance requirements is an asset.
3. Completion of a degree in Computer Science – or a combination of education, training and experience deemed equivalent.
4. Project management professional (PMP) designation, CAPM, PMP or equivalent certification is an asset.

Work Experience

1. Minimum 5 years’ progressive experience planning and implementing IT projects with cross-functional stakeholders from IT, Finance and HR.
2. Implementation of payroll projects experience preferred.
3. Knowledge of the theories, principles and practices project management and organizational change management.
4. Project management and supervisory principles and practices to supervise project staff and coordinate multiple complex projects under pressure to meet schedule and budget commitments.
5. Project experience based on technologies like MS SQL based web applications, MS Azure, MS PowerBI is an asset.

Skills And Competencies

1. Excellent MS Office knowledge.
2. MS Project experience is an advantage.
3. Basic understanding of Finance processes.
4. Basic understanding of IT Infrastructure, network, databases, web applications, data integration.
5. Profound English communication skills.
6. Solid German communication skills are an asset, but not mandatory.
7. “Hands-on” mentality.
8. Functional understanding of processes.
9. Planning and organizing.

11. Delegation.
12. Team work.
13. Critical thinking and problem-solving skills, decision making.

Work Environment

Regular travel: 10-15% of the time.
