Job Purpose:
The Project Manager, Philanthropy Events & Experiences acts as project manager for all WVC Philanthropy event and experiential activities, including Vision Trips, for all Philanthropy audiences (High-Net-Worth, Corporate, Church, Entertainment & Sports). This role is responsible for the successful development, end-to-end execution and delivery of all Philanthropy events and experiential activities, ensuring that the vision and goals for each are met and exceeded.
The Project Manager, Philanthropy Events & Experiences supports the development, monitoring, and execution of effective budgets, project plans, project schedules, marketing and promotion strategies, production plans, event and experience design and content strategies and post-activity analysis and reporting as well as the completion of key operational reports to support the achievement of all WVC event objectives, goals, and KPIs.
The Project Manager, Philanthropy Events & Experiences works collaboratively with internal teams and stakeholders across WVC, as well as third-party vendors and partners, building relationships that support the successful execution and delivery of WVC events to achieve shared objectives.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Works collaboratively with Philanthropy segment teams and other internal teams and stakeholders to execute Philanthropy & Partnership events and experiential activities according to divisional and team strategies and objectives.
- Operates as a strategic event and experiential Subject Matter Expert, pitching event and experience ideas and solutions to all Philanthropy stakeholders demonstrating how such activities can support the achievement of the objectives, KPI’s, and revenue goals of the division and organization.
- Delivers timely, relevant events to Canadians through collaboration with internal stakeholders, external partners, and third-party vendors, ensuring adherence to World Vision Canada's vision and strategy.
- Identifies and proposes new opportunities to test event and experiential strategies to increase the growth and expansion of the Philanthropy & Partnerships events & experiences portfolio and further the achievement of World Vision Canada and Philanthropy & Partnerships Team goals and objectives.
- Leads the design and creation of Philanthropy & Partnerships events & experiences, ensuring best-in-class delivery and brand excellence in experience while maximizing the achievement of World Vision Canada and Philanthropy & Partnerships Team KPI’s and objectives.
- Provides highly proficient project management for all Philanthropy & Partnerships events & experiences, supporting execution teams in the development and execution of project plans, and leading end-to-end execution and delivery through event and project management processes.
- Ensures that project schedules are being met and that all logistics, staffing, production, and project plan delivery are executed with excellence.
- Develops the strategy, framework, and content for all marketing communications such as invite and registration communications, social media ads, event website content, event scripts, and production rundowns while working with the Philanthropy & Partnerships Team, ensuring cohesive language with team and organizational brand and programming guidelines.
- Responsible for overseeing event and experiential production requirements related to event design, creative development, event content and brand compliance for event deliverables with internal and external partners.
- Supports the execution of Vision Trips for donors visiting the field as needed, ensuring the end-to-end travel experience is strategic, meets relationship cultivation objectives and delivered with excellence.
- Leads the execution of all operations for Philanthropy & Partnerships events & experiences, such as establishing and tracking budgets, invoices & payments, creating and monitoring contracts, SoW’s & POs, and developing and completing post-event reporting and data-entry into CRM.
- Ensures cohesive collaboration with vendors and partners while providing a consistent experience with World Vision Canada messaging, products, and brand-guided relationship management while ensuring excellence in delivery and adherence to World Vision Canada strategy and policies.
- Acts as a strategic Subject Matter Expert for World Vision Canada’s Brand, ensuring all elements of events and experiential activities align to and represent brand guidelines and are delivered according to brand excellence standards and KPI’s.
- Researches and implements industry trends and best practices for Philanthropy & Partnerships events & experiential activities and recommends opportunities for growth and expansion of market presence.
- Supports the development of team business processes, working with the Senior Manager, Events & Experiences to create and implement tools and resources to support maximum efficiency and effectiveness in the execution WVC events.
- Recommends strategic opportunities for revenue growth through corporate event sponsorship that supports the achievement of event goals and objectives.
Qualifications:
- Post-secondary education in Business, Marketing or Events Management desired
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in event planning, event production, event fundraising, and/or project management
- Experience working within the Philanthropy sector (within a Capital Campaign environment is an asset), with demonstrated ability collaborating with Fundraising Advisors
- Demonstrated experience communicating with High-Net-Worth Donors and high-profile stakeholders
- Highly skilled at networking and enhancing corporate relations
- Flexibility to work evenings/weekends as events require; some travel required
- Demonstrated experience in event marketing & communications
- Experience in relationship management with a proven track record of collaboration, negotiation, and reciprocity
- Demonstrated ability in project management
- Self-starter with demonstrated organizational, interpersonal, financial, administrative, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Customer-service orientation
- Demonstrated organizational, financial, problem solving, collaboration and communication skills.
- Experience working in an Agile environment and with Agile principles and practices.
- Experience in corporate event fundraising an asset
Working Conditions:
This position requires the ability to travel for business and the ability to work occasional weekends and evenings, as required.
