Project Manager (Major Projects/Heavy Lift)

Reporting to the Heavy Lifts Support Group for North America, Heavy Lifts is currently seeking a qualified person to join the team as a Project Manager. Relocation will not be offered for this role.

How You’ll Make an Impact

  • Oversee the technical, financial, and completion of major component exchanges throughout North America.
  • Be accountable for the schedule, cost, quality, and safety requirements related to specific work scopes, involving the initiation, planning, and execution of assigned projects.
  • Act as a key customer interface and coordinate work activities with Siemens Gamesa internal partners in the Region and Global.
  • Manage data related to major campaign projects for conventional and craneless type exchanges on all SGRE platform types.
  • Manage multiple, simultaneous projects involving cross-functional project teams within budgetary and schedule constraints.
  • Monitor and report progress of defined targets to the Heavy Lifts Support Group Manager.
  • Initiate project or program activities, including kick-off meeting scheduling, risk analysis, budget, and resource allocation utilizing PM best practices.
  • Continuously improve processes by standardizing workflow using lean methodology.

What You Bring

  • A degree/diploma in Mechanical or Business Management is an asset.
  • PMP certification from the Project Management Institute is an asset.
  • 2-5 years of experience in the wind industry with a focus on technical solutions.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Strong ability to manage internal and external clients, analyze, and resolve problems independently with a high level of results orientation.
  • Strong understanding of short and long-term planning.
  • Good computer skills, competent in the use of Microsoft platforms like Outlook, Excel, Power BI, SharePoint, TEAMS, and other Office 365 Suite programs.
  • The ability to travel regularly between Siemens Gamesa wind farm sites to oversee projects in the execution phase, with some international travel on a less regular basis.
  • The ability to ascend to heights up to 250 feet or greater, work in confined spaces, discern colors, and meet body weight restrictions of 260 pounds.
  • Qualified applicants must be legally authorized for employment in Canada without requiring employer-sponsored work authorization now or in the future.
