We are currently seeking a skilled Project Manager to join our team. Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, the Project Manager will assume responsibility for the overall performance of projects, including cost, schedule, quality, and project status. Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee project development, planning, execution, monitoring, controlling, and closing phases.
- Assure contract compliance, project management best practices, company policies and procedures and legislation and labour requirements.
- Administer projects on the Procore platform, including managing Change Orders and coordinating tasks through execution of deficiencies.
- Coordinate project tasks, budgets, and stakeholders to ensure successful project outcomes.
- Develop and manage project budgets and schedules.
- Create scopes of work and oversee material and equipment procurement, including negotiations and contract execution at the plant and with onsite subcontractors.
- Identify project risks and implement mitigation strategies to minimize budget and schedule impacts.
- Conduct RFPs, RFQs, and pricing requests for suppliers and subcontractors as well as internally, in pursuit of opportunities.
- Support business development by presenting and providing client content as requested.
- Collaborate closely with Plant Managers, Site Supervisors, Superintendents, and Designers/Coordinators.
- Direct Labor Staff and Sub-trades both at the modular facility and at site installation locations.
- Liaise with Owners, Engineers, Sub-trades, and Suppliers throughout the project lifecycle.
- Conduct quality control assessments including identification and rectification.
- Serve as the point of contact with CSA and oversee warranty review and execution.
- Warranty review and execution.
- Immediately identify and report safety hazards.
- Light Physical Demand (0-20lbs)
- Ensure compliance with safety standards set by ANC, the Ontario Health and Safety Association, and MSDS, and complete required Health and Safety training.
Quality/Environmental Management System Responsibility:
- Take preventive action to avoid non-conformities in product, process, or quality/environmental systems.
- Identify, record, and problems relating to product, process, or environmental systems.
- Control further processing, delivery, or installation of non-conforming products until corrections are made.
Key Measurements of the Position:
- Achievement of project deliverables/KPIs, including schedule adherence, budget control, and client satisfaction.
- Consistent attendance at all scheduled meetings and coordination of project management meetings.
- May initiate, recommend or provide solutions through designated channels.
- Timely updates to senior management, manufacturing, pre-construction, and business development on project dynamics and developments.
Reservation of Authority:
- Must seek approval from designated leadership for terms and conditions outside standard offerings.
- Does not hold authority for hiring or discharging employees.
- Requires authorization to spend funds exceeding approved budgets.
- Does not hold authority for starting salaries or changes to salaries.
Education and Experience:
- Educational and experience requirements in construction/architectural engineering technology.
- Minimum of 8 years’ experience in construction project management; 10+ years is an asset.
- Experience in both modular and conventional construction is preferred.
- PMP certification is an asset.
- Proven experience managing medium to large construction projects.
- Solid understanding of contract law and contract management.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with project management software such as Procore is an asset.
