Project Manager - Commercial

Adecco is actively seeking a highly skilled and motivated Project Manager - Commercial to join our client's team in Kelowna, BC. This full-time position offers a competitive salary of $135,000 to $155,000 per year, depending on experience. Responsibilities:

1. Take charge of building and developing a high-performing operations team that aligns with our client's cultural values, ensuring an environment where employees can thrive and learn.
2. Provide exceptional service to clients by delivering projects that meet their expectations, maintaining clear and transparent communication throughout the project lifecycle.
3. Develop and implement project strategies that drive successful outcomes, focusing on meeting performance goals and ensuring satisfaction for all stakeholders.

6. Manage the initial stages of the project by finalizing prime contracts, conducting project kick-off meetings, preparing comprehensive execution plans, and overseeing staffing and procurement processes.
7. Oversee day-to-day project activities, including managing RFIs, Site Instructions, Submittals, Change Orders, and other critical documentation to ensure smooth and efficient project flow.
8. Take responsibility for project financials, including budgeting, cost control, forecasting, and ensuring all financial objectives are met.
9. Create and maintain project schedules, ensuring timelines are adhered to, and managing resources effectively to meet project deadlines.
10. Proactively identify, assess, and mitigate project risks, resolving any issues that may arise and ensuring project goals are met.
11. Develop and nurture strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and other project stakeholders, managing expectations and ensuring alignment throughout the project lifecycle.
12. Lead project close-out activities, including final inspections, training, turnover, and warranty processes.
13. Ensure the successful transition of the project to the client.
14. Play an active role in mentoring and developing project team members, fostering their growth, and building a strong, collaborative team environment.

Requirements:

1. Legal eligibility to work and reside in Canada.
2. A Bachelor's degree, diploma, or a 2-year certificate in a construction-related field.
3. 5-10 years of experience managing commercial, industrial, or institutional construction projects.
4. Strong expertise in handling various construction contract types and managing projects from start to finish.
5. A deep understanding of Lean principles, collaborative planning, and continuous improvement techniques.
6. Familiarity with Procore Construction Management Software and the Last Planner System (preferred).
7. Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage complex stakeholder relationships.
8. Strong analytical abilities, with a proven track record of solving complex problems and making informed decisions in challenging situations.
9. Ability to read, interpret, and analyze technical drawings and specifications.
10. Proactive mindset for risk management, conflict resolution, and project optimization.
11. Strong leadership capabilities, including the ability to develop and mentor project teams.
