DVW is seeking a project manager with a proven track record to join our Latin American audio description operations team. This role will manage multi-language audio description projects for the M&E industry (films, TV series, other). In this context, we are recruiting native Spanish-speaking candidates who are passionate about pushing the boundaries to accessibility. This is a full-time hybrid remote/on-site position based in Vancouver, Canada.
As project manager, you will develop and simultaneously coordinate multiple projects through all phases of production, while monitoring logistical aspects with clients.
Responsibilities:
Manage the creation of audio description of Spanish language content for blind and visually impaired customers.
Schedule and monitor projects to ensure timely delivery.
Liaise with clients concerning deliverables/receivables and trouble-shoot as necessary.
Liaise internally with audio team to ensure quality and consistency of AD.
Recruit and onboard Spanish language AD writers, QC’ers, and voice talent.
Work closely with Spanish speaking AD writers and consultants to ensure that quality standards are consistently met.
Evaluate Spanish AD scripts and provide feedback.
Guide remote audio recording sessions as needed.
Manage back-end systems for client-specific applications.
Requirements:
Minimum of 5 years of proven experience in project management of Spanish language audio description (AD).
Proven knowledge of audio description guidelines and AD best practices and trends in Latin America and Spain.
Minimum BS in digital audio production, sound design or related field.
Awareness of and sensitivity to issues impacting blind and low vision communities and commitment to seeking innovative solutions to challenges.
Extensive contacts in the Latin American and Spanish M&E and AD industries.
Extensive contacts with accessibility advocacy organizations in Latin America.
Hands-on experience in audio engineering and knowledge of audio recording/mixing tools and delivery formats.
Exceptional cross-cultural communication skills.
Exceptional organizational skills, with a keen ability to prioritize tasks and pivot seamlessly in response to evolving needs.
Excellent time management skills and ability to work autonomously.
Native fluency in spoken and written Spanish. Exceptional linguistic knowledge and expertise in Spanish language.
Professional level fluency in English.
Flexibility and willingness to accommodate occasional work outside of standard office hours.
