Job Description : About the role :

The Global Talent Development team creates innovative and holistic learning solutions to enhance employee experiences, build strong leadership & team capabilities, and enable Sun Life to be one of the top insurance and asset management companies in the world.

As Bilingual Senior Consultant, Global Talent Development, you will report to the Director, Global Talent Development. You will work in close partnership with HRBPs, Talent Partners, and various Talent Management functions, as well as collaborate directly with leaders, teams, and individual employees to support development, career growth, strategic and cultural alignment.

You will be responsible for the research, design, launch planning, and successful execution of key talent development solutions aligned to HR strategies and organizational imperatives. Solutions you build will be effective in classroom, virtual, and hybrid environments for both small- and large-scale audiences. You will facilitate using various learning technologies and modalities to engage and support a variety of learners, enhance collaboration, and help drive sustained behaviour change.

What will you do?

  • Effectively develop leadership & team capability throughout the organization using your strong facilitation, coaching, instructional design, and strategic consulting skills.
  • Design, manage, implement, and measure effective and efficient learning solutions at the global and / or local level by utilizing best practices, adult learning principles, available workplace technologies, and blended learning strategies.
  • Deliver workshops in French and English for small- and large-scale audiences, in both virtual and in-person settings.
  • Leverage emerging trends within the learning industry and digital workplace to enable continuous development across the organization.
  • Continually build your knowledge and expertise of effective leadership & team practices that drive engagement and productivity while aligning to Sun Life’s desired culture and DE&I commitments.
  • Partner with Talent Development colleagues, HRBPs, other Centers for Expertise within Human Resources and business L&D departments, as well as external vendors to develop solutions that address skill gaps and create a consistent employee and leader experience globally.
  • Act as an integrator to bring necessary stakeholders from across the organization to solve for talent development issues.
  • Offer your expertise and consultative services to address escalated questions related to employee and leadership development / behaviours.
  • Use project management discipline to ensure an integrated approach to the design and implementation of enterprise-wide employee and leadership development initiatives.
  • Measure outcomes to ensure program and service effectiveness.

What do you need to succeed?

  • Bilingualism (French, English, both oral and written) is required for the frequent interactions with English and French-speaking colleagues or internal partners across Canada and worldwide.
  • Strong facilitation (virtual and in person), coaching, and consulting skills in group and individual settings, and project teams.
  • Expertise in leadership development, building high-performing teams, and supporting career growth.
  • Ability to navigate competing priorities and partner effectively with a variety of stakeholders.
  • Client centric, forward thinking with an innovative mindset.
  • Strong agility and resilience in driving effective change.
  • Strong presence and ability to communicate with impact and influence.
  • Successful at managing multiple projects and change initiatives, addressing short- and long-term needs.
  • Proven digital innovation and learning technologies experience.
  • Ability to navigate a fast-paced, ambiguous, and complex environment.
  • Commitment to continuous improvement and ongoing learning.
  • Knowledge of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging is an asset.
  • Knowledge of personality theory and use of psychometric assessments is an asset.

What else needs to be noted?

  • Some travel may be needed between sites within Canada, the U.S. and various global sites.
  • The Global Talent Development team is distributed across multiple cities and countries and primarily works virtually.
  • The chosen candidate will need to be self-motivated, self-organizing, and accountable while also effective at virtual and online collaboration.
