  • Contract type: Fixed-Term One-Year Contract (with likely extension/renewal based on project needs and performance)
  • Hours: Full-Time
  • Location: Hybrid (Office location: Don Mills/Eglinton area)
  • Reporting to: Vice-President, Laboratory Operations and Quality Management
  • Travel requirements: Occasional local travel to client sites, conferences

We are seeking a results-driven and experienced Project Manager to join our growing team and lead the successful delivery of project(s) and initiative(s) across multiple business streams. As a hands-on Project Manager at In-Common Laboratories, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth execution of projects, from initiation to completion, while maintaining high standards of quality, efficiency, and client satisfaction.

Key Requirements:

  • Lead and manage project(s): Oversee the end-to-end delivery of projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within scope, and within budget. This includes detailed management of project charter, plan and schedule, resources, milestones, dependencies, and tasks.
  • Collaborate across teams and communicate with stakeholders: Work closely with cross-functional teams, stakeholders, and external partners, ensuring clear communication and alignment throughout the project lifecycle. Provide regular updates to clients, senior management, and other stakeholders on project progress, challenges, and milestones. Maintain strong relationships and ensure client satisfaction.
  • Develop and maintain detailed project plans and schedules: Create and update detailed project plans, outlining timelines, deliverables, tasks, dependencies, and resource requirements. Ensure that all tasks are aligned with business objectives and client needs.
  • Monitor and mitigate risks: Identify potential risks and issues that could impact project(s) success. Proactively develop and implement mitigation strategies to address these challenges.
  • Ensure quality control: Maintain high standards of quality throughout project(s) lifecycle by conducting regular reviews and monitoring deliverables. Ensure that the work meets client expectations and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications (Education/Skills):

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Certification as a Project Manager (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2) is a required qualification for this role.
  • Healthcare experience is strongly preferred.
  • Laboratory sector experience is valued; however, not a requirement (emphasis on ‘willingness to learn’).
  • Proven experience as a Project Manager, with a successful track record of managing complex projects in healthcare or related industries.
  • Experience with project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall, Scrum) and tools (e.g., MS Project, Asana, Jira) is required.
  • Excellent leadership, negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and critical thinking abilities.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and maintain focus under pressure.
