The Opportunity:
Project Manager, for our Transportation & Infrastructure team, located at our Edson, Alberta office.
Reporting to the Area Manager, you will be responsible to assist in the design, delivery and coordination of transportation and infrastructure projects, within the surrounding area. You will provide technical and operational assistance to WSP Clients, the Area Manager, and will assist in coordinating project delivery requirements to ensure the successful design, delivery, management, and cost control of projects. You will also liaise with other Disciplines and Business Units for the successful delivery of multi-discipline projects within the region.
This position will require travel throughout Northwestern Alberta and may result in periods of time away from the assigned office. It is preferred that you reside in the local area, however suitable candidates living within Northwest Alberta will be considered. Relocation will also be provided for top candidates.

What you can expect to do here:
- Provide direction, supervision and leadership support and oversee day to day activities in the respective WSP region;
- Provide direct leadership support and supervision to Projects and Project Management teams in meeting specific design targets;
- Ensure proactive project planning and management to facilitate efficient resources, staff utilization, and budgets to deliver the respective projects on time and on budget;
- Project Design, Coordination and Management of various transportation projects;
- Conceptual, preliminary, and detailed design;
- Quantities and construction cost estimates;
- Independent Review and Quality Assurance of designs and drawings;
- Specifications and contract document preparation;
- Review of shop drawings and field technical support of bridge construction;
- Provide leadership and mentoring to a team of technical staff delivering transportation projects;
- Assist with leadership and expertise re: client management;
- Preparation of reports and proposals; and
- Other duties as assigned.
What you’ll bring to WSP:
- Solid leadership and communication abilities, notably capable of inspiring, engaging, and influencing a high caliber team to drive to high performance levels and seize the opportunities presented internally and in the market, to the benefit of a wide body of stakeholders (including, but not limited to: clients, employees, shareholders, partners, suppliers, and society at large);
- 3+ years of experience working in an engineering and project management capacity on civil engineering projects within Canada is preferred;
- Civil Engineering, Technology, or a related qualification; or practical experience in a similar role;
- Superior technical understanding and design abilities;
- Experience with field review and inspection during construction;
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification would be an asset but not required;
- Strong ability to communicate effectively (verbally, written, and executive presentations) with internal and external clients and stakeholders, and build well-developed teams and positive relationships;
- Motivated and enthusiastic team player with a strong desire to succeed; and
- A valid Class 5 driver’s license.
