Your role

Are you motivated to build your career in Project Management? If you have interest supporting projects in a variety of sectors such as commercial, institutional, or light industrial and you’re eager to gain more experience in these areas, we would love to hear from you!

We are looking for a 4 or 8 month Project Management Student for May 2025 to join our team in the Southern Ontario region. In this role, you’ll work with experienced project managers to sharpen your relationship management skills and successfully achieve project deliverables. You’ll hone your project management skills by working on various projects from different industry sectors. Our Co-op students get the opportunity to work with the best in the industry and to develop their skills on a diverse range of projects that vary in scope and complexity.

Responsibilities

  • Be a key contributor, working alongside and learning from the best project leaders in the industry
  • Gain valuable exposure to effective project delivery systems, processes and tools
  • Build core project management skills needed for future success by assuming a hands-on role supporting capital project delivery and develop a deeper understanding of design principles, construction methodologies and contract law
  • Provide superior project support to Project Managers by drafting reports, doing cost tracking and producing progress status updates
  • Prepare detailed meeting minutes, make scheduling and budget adjustments, and prepare tender and contract documents
  • Perform research for proposals and projects as needed
  • Ensure project activities are conducted in accordance with Colliers Project Leaders’ Quality Management System
  • Attend important project and site meetings, documenting action items and key decisions to share with the team

Qualifications

  • 3rd or 4th year student enrolled in a university degree program in architecture, engineering, construction management or project management
  • A keen interest in project management along with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced and collaborative, team-based environment
  • Self-motivation, drive and a high level of personal accountability
  • Willingness to learn, and advance technical knowledge and capability
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong organizational ability and attention to detail
  • Proficient in MS Project, MS Word and MS Excel
  • A professional appearance, candor and appropriate communication style needed to interact effectively with clients and project stakeholders
