Job description

Halifax Water is hiring for the job of Project Engineer (Treatment Facilities/Process Engineering positions). This is a regular opportunity in the Strategic Projects Section of the Engineering and Capital Infrastructure Department and has full time hours.

As a Project Engineer working in Treatment Facilities / Process Engineering:

  • You are a key member in the management of water and wastewater treatment facility infrastructure at Halifax Water.
  • You provide leadership in Halifax Water by delivering services that protect public health and the environment through the delivery of capital projects.
  • You are responsible for the provision of professional engineering and project management services for a wide range of capital projects related to water and wastewater treatment facilities infrastructure.
  • You will mainly focus on the delivery of projects in support of Halifax Water's long-term plans specific as established in the Infrastructure Master Plans from the Integrated Resource Plan.

To do this job, you need:

  • A post-secondary education in Engineering (civil, mechanical, electrical, process or environmental).
  • A Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation.
  • Five years of progressively responsible related experience in an engineering field (water and wastewater treatment).
  • Ideally have project management experience.
  • A valid NS driver's license.
