Project Engineer (Project Management)

We are seeking a Project Engineer for an exciting opportunity to play a pivotal role in providing our clients with top-notch consulting engineering services at our Regina office. Working within a team, you will be responsible for project acquisition, planning, execution, and delivery. Your primary focus will be to ensure that our clients receive the high-quality products & services they request, while effectively managing projects from start to finish. This role also involves overseeing a team of engineers and engineering technologists to successfully complete assigned projects.
Responsibilities
- Client Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong client relationships to ensure client satisfaction. Represent clients at project meetings and act as their advocate.
- Proposal Development: Develop project scopes and estimates for proposals that provide significant value to both parties while mitigating risks.
- Estimation and Tracking: Prepare estimates for specific proposals and measure project success against estimated targets. Ensure that designs meet all legislated, industry, and organization-specific requirements and practices.
- Project Roadmap: Develop and follow a project Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) roadmap. Identify variances and adapt the roadmap accordingly.
- Project Reviews: Conduct comprehensive project reviews upon completion, taking into account client and team feedback. Evaluate financial, schedule, and product performance.
- Professional Development: Stay current in your field and the industries of our clients through personal and professional development.
- Other Duties: Perform additional responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications and Experience
- Professional Engineer, and/or Engineering Technologist licensed to work in Saskatchewan.
- Significant expertise in managing engineering projects and schedules in a heavy industrial setting.
- Knowledge of and ability to apply industry-related codes, standards, procedures, and practices to complete manufactured and/or assembled products.
- Experience in project tracking and reporting, including individual projects and overall corporate resource utilization.
- Proficiency in project management methodologies and their appropriate application.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Current and valid driver’s license.
- Ability to apply safe work practices and WHMIS policies and processes.
- In-depth knowledge of engineering, mechanical designs, assembly, and final product.
- Strong understanding of engineering project management.
- Exceptional time management, problem solving, negotiation and sales skills to collaborate with clients and meet project requirements and timelines.
- Effective team player with demonstrated leadership skills.
- Ability to make decisions within your scope of responsibilities.
