Project Engineer

Job Summary
Fraction Energy Services provides a full range of water management services to the Canadian oil and gas industry. Our company is hiring a Project Engineer to join our industry leading Engineering Team. The Project Engineer will be responsible for a wide variety of duties including designing water transfer systems, providing technical and operational support to Fraction field and sales staff, and liaising with Fraction’s customers. This role requires an engineer who has a broad level of experience in water management systems and oil and gas operations. The position will be based out of Fraction’s Grande Prairie field office and will require regular field travel.

RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Ensure that Fraction’s core value, “We won’t put anyone in harm’s way” is the priority in all activities.
2. Work with Customers to design water management systems that meet operational requirements.
3. Develop project proposals and work plans and monitor costs.
4. Provide technical support to Fraction’s operations Teams and Customers.
5. Conduct post-project reviews to identify opportunities for improvement.
6. Review and assess new technologies and workflows.
7. Travel to remote locations will be required.

EXPERIENCE & SKILLS

1. A bachelor’s degree in engineering (Mechanical, Civil, Petroleum or Environmental) from a nationally accredited program.
2. Must be an Engineer in good standing with APEGA.
3. Must have a working knowledge of process flow and piping and instrumentation diagrams.
4. Valid Class 5 Drivers license.
5. Must maintain a valid H2S Alive and First Aid certifications.
6. Previous water management and oil and gas experience are assets.
7. A strong understanding of British Columbia Energy Regulator and Alberta Energy Regulator regulations and guidelines as well as engineering knowledge and awareness of industry standards as it applies to water management systems.
8. Strong leadership and managerial skills.
9. Must be able to work within interdisciplinary teams.
10. Must be able to provide sound analytical and interpretational skills.
11. Strong verbal and written communication skills.
12. Team-oriented, self-reliant, and able to work without direct supervision.
13. Be able to prioritize tasks, adapt to changes and complete projects with tight deadlines.
14. Be proficient with Microsoft Office desktop applications and able to learn various specialized data management systems.

WORKING CONDITIONS

1. This position will be located at Fraction Energy Services’ Grande Prairie field office. The successful applicant will also be required to travel to the field as well as to the company’s corporate office in Calgary.
2. Pre-employment drug and alcohol testing required.
3. Exposure to outdoor environment, including extreme weather and driving conditions.
4. Office work environment with sitting for long periods and light duty lifting.
