Job Description
CIMA+'s Project Management team is present from coast to coast across Canada, bringing its expertise and support in managing projects of all types and sizes. CIMA+ is currently seeking a Project Director with experience in Energy or Industry to support its growth in these sectors for the coming years. Under the supervision of the Senior Vice President, you will participate in the realization and success of large-scale projects for one of our main clients. In close collaboration with the Vice President of the Project Management sector, you will play a key role in coordinating project management services with our Energy & Resources professionals and overseeing multidisciplinary project managers.
Main Responsibilities
As a Project Director, you will have a strategic and operational role at all stages of the projects, with responsibilities including:
- Develop business relationships with internal and external clients in the project management sector.
- Rigorously monitor the performance of tasks under your responsibility or that of your team. Report to the management on progress, technical and business risks, expectations, project milestones, and any other key elements of the mandate.
- Lead, guide, and motivate a team of multidisciplinary managers, fostering a dynamic, collaborative, and stimulating work environment.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to identify project needs, define requirements, execution milestones, and success criteria.
- Prepare and review project work and execution plans to propose a methodology suitable to the conditions. Establish budgets, resource allocation, and execution schedules.
- Monitor cost, budget, schedule, quality, and accuracy of project deliverables, and periodically present progress to the client as agreed.
- Coordinate and support the tendering process, analyze submissions, and make recommendations.
- Lead or attend team coordination and/or technical meetings, operational or strategic discussions required in the sector or during the mandate.
- Proactively manage risks and change by conducting risk analysis and change management exercises in advance, in accordance with best practices.
- Provide recommendations and expert advice regarding project standards, governance, and procedures to continually improve management practices.
Qualifications
- A university degree in engineering, project management, or any other relevant equivalent qualification.
- A minimum of 15 years of relevant experience in project management within the Energy or Industry sector.
- PMP accreditation (is an asset).
- Autonomy, excellent team spirit, and strong communication and synthesis skills.
- Ability to navigate in a complex environment with multiple stakeholders.
- Strong time and priority management skills.
- Ability to manage multidisciplinary teams and excellent interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in both French and English, spoken and written.
- Willingness to travel to various project sites.
