Career TEAM is seeking an experienced and results-driven Project Director to oversee the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) Adult, Dislocated Worker, and Youth programs, as well as special grants such as the National Dislocated Worker Grant, RERP, and Prison to Employment, in the North Bay region. This position is based at our Napa office and requires occasional travel between our four sites - Marin, Napa, Mendocino, and Lake - to support program operations and community partnerships.

The Project Director will be responsible for managing and supervising staff, overseeing program administration, and implementing strategic initiatives to ensure compliance and performance excellence. A strong understanding of workforce development protocols, WIOA regulations, core programs, and best practices in employment and training services is essential. Additionally, Spanish-speaking proficiency is preferred to better serve the diverse communities in the North Bay region.

As a key member of the Management Team, the Program Director will ensure quality and integrity across all workforce functions, while fostering a culture of high performance and continuous improvement. This role requires collaboration with internal and external stakeholders to enhance service delivery and maximize program impact.

Your Impact on Career TEAM’s Success:

  • Serve as the primary local contact and contract liaison for the funding source
  • Partner with the local Workforce Development Board to support program growth and increase community awareness of WIOA and partner services
  • Ensure compliance with contract requirements, policies, procedures and program monitoring
  • Oversee program budgets to ensure expenditure rates align with performance goals while avoiding disallowed costs
  • Develop and implement service delivery plans to drive key performance metrics and staff coaching initiatives
  • Lead a team of high-performing employees, fostering a culture of excellence and professional growth
  • Design and execute continuous improvement strategies to enhance customer satisfaction
  • Hire, train, and develop staff while ensuring best practices in workforce development
  • Accurately complete required documentation and reports
  • Approach each day and task with a “ZAG” mindset - thinking innovatively and challenging the status quo
  • Other duties and projects as needed

To Qualify for This Role, You Must Have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, public relations, or community development, or a related field
  • 5+ years of experience in operations, workforce development, business, marketing, public relations, or education
  • Strong knowledge of WIOA programs and workforce development requirements
  • Demonstrated ability to lead diverse teams in a fast-paced environment while maintaining flexibility and efficiency
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), case management software, and customer relations tools
  • Exceptional time management skills to meet deadlines and work under pressure
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and strategic thinking skills
  • Valid Driver’s License

Travel: Position may require local travel up to 30% of the time
