Integration of Grand River Hospital & St Mary’s General Hospital: In April 2024, the Boards of St. Mary’s General and Grand River Hospitals both independently voted in favour of a voluntary merger of the Hospitals to form a new hospital organization. This evolution of our partnership will occur alongside our joint redevelopment work, as we strive to build a new acute care campus in the community. We currently have two opportunities for Project Coordinator, PCE within the Integrated People Services and Systems Team at Grand River and St. Mary’s. These are temporary positions and anticipated to extend to March 2025.

The Project Coordinator supports our teams by:

Reporting to the Integrated Director, People Services and Systems, Human Resources – Compensation & Benefits, the Project Coordinator will be a key resource for the Integrated Human Resources team at Grand River and St. Mary’s General Hospitals.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Assisting with the coordination and facilitation of all meeting and event elements related to Human Resources, including but not limited to, room bookings, schedule coordination, agendas/minutes for department meetings.
  • Compiling data, preparing reporting tools and documents.
  • Documentation management including the maintenance of data files, stakeholder engagement tracking and the maintenance and continuous improvement of a filing system.
  • Functioning as a support to communication and engagement activities including, but not limited to, updating the intranet, and updating PowerPoint presentations.
  • Contributing to ensuring there is a safe environment for patients, staff and visitors.

The Project Coordinator brings the following:

  • Post-secondary diploma in business or office administration setting required.
  • 3 – 5 years’ experience in a similar role required, preferably in a healthcare setting.
  • Experience with project management methodologies.
  • Excellent knowledge and proficiency with the Microsoft Suite (including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, and Access).
  • Willing and able to learn new software including Sharepoint, the intranet platform (Lotus Link) and Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, with ambiguity, prioritize work in a busy setting, set objectives and manage time.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to foster good working relationships with hospital staff and stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated flexibility, reliability and ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Excellent organizational, attention to detail and time management skills with the ability to prioritize.
  • Good attendance record.
