Job description

POSITION SUMMARY: The Project Coordinator will be responsible for assisting the Project Manager and Site Superintendent with the day-to-day coordination and administration of construction projects.


RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Assist in plan and specification analysis to coordinate and provide a clear interpretation of design drawings for construction.
  2. Assist the Project Manager in drafting and issuance of project proposals, budgets, cash flows and preliminary schedules.
  3. Act as a liaison with subcontractors; expediting drawings, shop drawings and related information.
  4. Maintain accurate and up-to-date RFI logs; track responses & advise the Project Manager and Site Superintendent of the status of RFI’s.
  5. Conduct quality control activities in accordance with WM company practices.
  6. Coordinate submittals and procure all close-out documents, including warranties and operating maintenance manuals.
  7. Monitor field work and the project quality plan to ensure compliance with WM building standards, procedures, specifications and codes.
  8. Assist the Project Manager in the review of Contractor quotations to ensure that only fair and reasonable pricing is recommended for approval.
  9. Perform document control functions in accordance with on-site policy and procedures.
  10. Coordinate periodic photographs for relevant records.
  11. Track and create RFI’s, transmit and track submittals, compose agreements, and maintain project expediting lists.
  12. Assist with the research and preparation of filed change requests to resolve design issues.
  13. Maintain and update the Shop Drawings Logs and review submittals.
  14. Research and recommend solutions to design document problems, including conflicts, interferences.
  15. Track and manage change notices and change orders in the database.
  16. Ensure all required project close-out documents are obtained.
  17. Liaise with the Accounting department on invoice inquiries and monthly cost reports.
  18. Take and distribute meeting minutes.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Minimum 2 years of experience in working as a Project Coordinator, construction industry experience preferred.
  2. Previous experience in ICI construction projects is considered an asset.
  3. BCIT Construction Program Management Diploma preferred.
  4. Solid computer skills (Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project, Newforma, Bluebeam).
  5. Excellent written and oral communication and interpersonal skills.
  6. Organized, multitasker with the ability to set and manage priorities.
  7. Exceptional time management skills.
  8. Demonstrated ability to handle pressure situations in a professional manner.
  9. Problem-solving and analytical skills with the demonstrated ability to work under pressure in a professional manner.
