Dagmar, a subsidiary of Bird Construction, specializes in civil projects across Ontario, with a strong reputation for delivering high-quality roads, bridges, transit, utilities, and public works.


Reporting to the Project Manager, the Project Coordinator will ensure seamless coordination between stakeholders, maintain project schedules, and assist with budgeting and cost control. They will play a key role in managing RFIs, change orders, and shop drawings, while ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.

This position will support multiple projects across Ontario.

What You Will Be Working On:

  • Assist in managing and coordinating civil infrastructure projects, ensuring alignment with project objectives.
  • Support the pricing of change orders, manage Requests for Information (RFIs), and review shop drawings for compliance with project specifications.
  • Work closely with the Project Manager and Site Superintendent to facilitate smooth project execution and mitigate operational bottlenecks.
  • Assist in tracking and updating project schedules, budgets, and cost reports to ensure financial and operational efficiency.
  • Identify and assist in resolving project challenges related to site conditions, scheduling, and design, ensuring that solutions align with project timelines and budgets.
  • Maintain strong working relationships with clients, consultants, sub-trades, and suppliers, ensuring effective coordination and communication.
  • Ensure that health, safety, and environmental standards meet both regulatory requirements and company policies.
  • Support change management processes, ensuring proper documentation and approval of modifications.
  • Assist in coordinating and reviewing shop drawings to ensure accuracy and compliance with project specifications.

What We Are Looking For:

  • Degree or Diploma in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • 3-5 years of experience as a Project Coordinator or in a similar role within civil infrastructure projects.
  • Hands-on experience with highways, bridges, roads, utilities, or transit-related infrastructure.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, fostering collaboration with all project stakeholders.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail and accuracy in reporting.
  • Experience with project scheduling, budgeting, and cost control principles.
