Description:

ATCO Frontec is seeking a Project Coordinator to join our North of 60 Projects division. This is an excellent opportunity for a professional to gain experience on full project life cycle activities, which include scheduling, change management, budget tracking, coordination and other duties.

Where We Work and Live:

This is a hybrid position based in Calgary, Alberta. Occasional travel to project locations will be a requirement of the position.

Responsibilities:

  1. Assist in the management of construction project contracts and ensure compliance with subcontract documents.
  2. Identify contractual statement of work issues and respond to contract amendments and new customer requirements. Ensure change orders are completed for every change including "zero dollar" changes.
  3. Formulate and update project documentation including schedules, risk registers, issues logs, etc.
  4. Complete change management documentation including RFIs, CCNs & COs.
  5. Ensure all project operations meet and comply with local laws and regulations, federal health and safety legislation, regulations, corporate policies.
  6. Provide input and feedback on the subcontract documents to the Site/Contract Project Manager. Identifying any improvements in wording, scope, clarity etc.
  7. Maintain a current database of competent, professional subcontractors covering all project requirements, i.e. electrical, carpentry, masonry etc.
  8. Submit shop drawings for review and approval.
  9. Maintain accurate, neat and well organized and documented Project Files.
  10. Meet with clients to discuss project scopes, troubleshoot equipment/service problems, review engineering design, plan and schedule work, inspect work in progress and final inspection.
  11. Review subcontractor invoices for standing offer and construction projects and sign-off indicating the work is completed as required and the amounts are correct.

Qualifications:

  1. A current Level II (Secret) Security Clearance is a requirement.
  2. Experience working with federal government contracts and processes considered an asset.
  3. Working knowledge of Oracle, SAP or equivalent.
  4. 2 or more years of experience in Project Coordination, Contract management or Administration is required.
  5. Prior experience in scheduling software.
  6. Prior experience in project controls or planning is considered an asset.
  7. Ability to multi-task and handle a high volume of work with accuracy, while prioritizing.
  8. Class 5 Driving License required.
  9. A ‘self-starter’ attitude with the willingness to take the initiative will be key in this position.
  10. Excellent written and oral communication skills.
