Lycopodium is currently recruiting for a Project Controls Manager to join our growing Projects team in Vancouver, BC. Reporting to the Project Controls Manager, they will be responsible for managing project total costs, schedule, and progress in a timely and consistently accurate manner.

Responsibilities

  1. Support the Project Controls Manager and his/her team to establish and maintain the cost controls for a project, providing quality up-to-date data to assist with the management of project activities.
  2. Adopt and follow the various (project specific and company) procedures, work practices, plans, systems, and protocols required to work efficiently, maintain a consistent approach, and high standard of work.
  3. Operate in accordance with the Company Project Control Procedures and Processes, in particular cost control, forecasting, and progress reporting.
  4. Implement and maintain Project Control Work Breakdown Structure.
  5. Manage project budget and schedule.

Qualifications

  1. Preferably an Engineering qualification or equivalent (extended experience in the engineering and/or construction fields).
  2. More than 8 years post-graduation (or 10 years experience in the industry).
  3. Strong understanding of project controls principles and processes for EPC/EPCM projects including budget development, cost control, planning/scheduling, change management, progress management, and project reporting.
  4. Ability to establish and maintain Project work breakdown structure and cost breakdown structure.
  5. Ability to manage, forecast, and trend Project indirect and direct capital costs including budget, commitments, accruals, and forecast.
  6. Strong understanding of Procurement and Project accounting interdependencies, ability to liaise/provide support to both functions as required.
  7. Ability to coordinate and maintain project Change Management processes.
  8. Proficiency with Project progress measurement and reporting (including Earned Value and KPIs) for engineering, procurement, and construction phases.
  9. Proficiency with scheduling systems (Primavera P6 and MS Project).
  10. Ability to establish and maintain resource-loaded Project Schedule of required level of detail for all phases including engineering, procurement, and construction.
  11. Ability to liaise with different disciplines (home office and at site), manage and coordinate various inputs for the accurate and timely project reporting at different levels (weekly, monthly, dashboard, ad-hoc, etc.).
  12. Ability to work effectively with minimal supervision with a consistently high degree of accuracy and high-quality deliverables.
  13. Demonstrate a high standard of verbal and written communication.
