The Project & AutoCAD Coordinator will be responsible for assisting the Project Managers with creating and editing drawings, drawing coordination and assisting with all major and minor Goodwill buildout and renovation projects throughout Southwestern Ontario and GTA regions. This position requires the successful candidate to have a valid driver’s license and a reliable insured vehicle. The successful candidate would have to provide proof that they have a valid driver’s license and proof of car insurance upon being hired.

What You Will Do:

AutoCAD Related Duties

  • Meet with engineers, draftsmen, and designers to review blueprints and design drawings.
  • Input measurements and design specifications into AutoCAD.
  • Organize and maintain facility drawing files.
  • Create and maintain drawing standards.

Project Related Duties

  • Assist the Project Manager with any number of tasks, often assisting with tasks outlined below but may also be asked to perform clerical duties.
  • Travel to existing and new locations to conduct site construction inspections and attend site meetings.
  • Monitor each project to ensure that projects remain on schedule, on budget and proceed according to plans.
  • Assist with creating tender documents, bidding process, and awarding contracts.
  • Assist with material take-offs and budgeting.

Vendor Management

  • Obtain quotes and ensure compliance with contractual terms.
  • Identify and evaluate potential suppliers, negotiating terms and conditions to secure advantageous agreements.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors to ensure reliable and cost-effective sources of supply.

Communication

  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand their drawing and project needs.

Documentation

  • Maintain accurate records of contractor health and safety, drawings, material standards, project start up and closing documents, or any other document that pertains to drawings or projects.

Other Duties

  • Identify opportunities for efficiency improvements in maintenance processes.
  • Stay updated on industry best practices and new technologies.
  • Follow all safety standards set out in legislation and/or Goodwill policies.

What We Are Looking For:

  • Enthusiastic attitude: excited to work with other people and teams.
  • Flexibility: able to work at different times, including days, evenings, and weekends.
  • High degree of self-motivation.
  • A minimum 3-year degree/diploma in Architecture, Construction, or a related field (preferred).
  • Must have a minimum of 2 years’ experience in Canadian commercial or industrial construction.
  • Proficient with Outlook, Excel, Word and other office related programs.
  • Computer skills are essential. (AutoCAD and MS Office)
  • Must have own transportation as this role requires travel from time to time to various locations.
