What You Will Do
As a Programmer Analyst Sr at Fidelity Investments Canada ULC, you will have the outstanding opportunity to collaborate with a world-class team on ambitious projects. Your role will involve analyzing, reviewing, and delivering flawless application solutions tailored to specific business requirements from both the Business and IS groups. You will work closely with team members to ensure efficient application availability and system maintenance, occasionally stepping into the role of technical lead on key projects.
Key Accountabilities:
Project Baseline Process (PROCESS)
- Contribute to the completion of the definition and estimation of project work packages, FSTDs, and systems design specifications.
- Provide timely estimates for work effort (hours to log in eTM) and ensure target dates of completion are met.
Quality of the Deliverables (PROCESS)
- Complete application unit test plans, participate in walkthroughs, and successfully implement unit tests for project and production development requirements.
- Verify application designs to ensure they are efficient, effective, and meet corporate application quality standards.
- Adhere to and contribute to departmental processes, methodologies, standards, and practices in line with Quality and Performance measurements.
- Submit completed documentation of analysis and test cases to the Application Manager or Technical Lead as part of the code review.
- Ensure no performance issues (e.g., slow response times) are found in QA and Production. Complete design and code walk-through sessions with the Technical Lead or Application Manager.
- Update CQs accurately and in a timely manner, including attaching required documentation.
Excellence in Project Delivery (RESULTS)
- Act as a technical lead on projects when needed.
- Ensure development deliverables are completed on time and within the estimated budget.
What We’re Looking For
- University Degree in Engineering, Computer Science and Mathematics or equivalent work experience.
- Minimum 3+ years of proven IT experience with an emphasis on Java, JavaScript, Spring Framework, HTML/CSS, .NET Framework, C#.NET, SQL/HQL, AngularJS, Angular, jQuery, Java Swing, Node.js, Python, Crystal Report SDK, and IIS.
- Strong understanding of Agile and Waterfall methodologies.
- Knowledge and experience in developing applications for the mutual fund/investment industry.
- Extensive experience with the full life cycle of software development.
- Solid experience in APIs development.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present and comprehend technical details clearly.
- Liaise with internal user groups as needed to effectively program applications based on business and systems requirements.
- Work collaboratively with peers and business partners to deliver high quality projects and innovative solutions.
- Strong problem-solving skills that are conceptual and innovative.
- Leadership skills with the ability to lead and influence others.
