SUMMARY: As part of the Youth Resource Centre Team, the Program Supervisor will oversee daily operations, fostering a work culture aligned with organizational goals and core values. They will lead and supervise team members to achieve strategic directions, ensure accountability, and maintain reporting standards.

The duties and responsibilities are carried out within a trauma resiliency-informed framework. Duties are performed within a team environment that focuses on establishing collaborative and trusting relationships. Providing culturally competent services and ensuring youth safety, choice and control are priorities at The Link.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES of the Program Supervisor include, but are not limited to:

  1. In consultation and collaboration with the Leadership and Operational teams, the Youth Resource Centre Program Supervisor coordinates and implements strategies, plans, programs, projects, tools, data and reports.
  2. Implements annual and operational plans to ensure vertical and horizontal alignment with the goals of the organization.
  3. Ensures accountability to achieve the strategic directions of the organization.
  4. Motivates, leads and supervises the Youth Resource Centre team members in order to achieve the aims of the organization.
  5. Coordinates and maintains reporting expectations for the program.
  6. Participates in the development of a balanced operational budget for The Link: Youth and Family Supports on an annual basis.
  7. Represents The Link: Youth and Family Supports both externally as well as internally.
  8. Promotes and complies with various legislations (i.e. Workplace Safety and Health Act, adhering to Public Health Orders, Human Rights Act, Department of Families Licensing standards).
  9. Promotes and liaises with the external environment to determine the future needs and direction of the program.
  10. The Program Supervisor of the Youth Resource Centre will be responsible for the performance and attendance management of staff.
  11. Ensures casework is based on the program purpose statement.
  12. Implements program policies.
  13. Prepares and works within a budget for the program.
  14. Undertakes new endeavors based on community and organizational needs - i.e. The Link database and other modernization initiatives.
  15. Networks with collaterals and community resources and addresses external requests.
  16. Attends team meetings and training as required.
  17. Other duties as requested.

EXPERIENCE:

  1. Five (5) years of related experience with at-risk youth.
  2. Five (5) years of leadership experience, leading teams and programs.
  3. Effective problem-solving ability and strong communication skills.
  4. The ability to work independently and as a part of a team.
  5. Person-focused crisis resolution and clinical counseling experience.
  6. Business management and public relations training preferred, but not required.
  7. Knowledge of Strength-based philosophy and knowledge of Indigenous culture and language preferred.

EDUCATION:

  1. Post-secondary education in human services or;
  2. A combination of education and experience may be considered.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:

  1. Willingness to obtain necessary training as per the organization's training policy including: Crisis De-escalation, Applied Suicide Intervention, Colonization Awareness and Child Development.
  2. Emergency First Aid and CPR Level C or willingness to obtain.
  3. Satisfactory Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Search, a clear Child Abuse Registry check with acceptable Prior Contact checks and a clear Adult Abuse Registry check, all done within the last 3 months.
  4. Valid driver's license and acceptable driver's abstract (subject to approval).

SALARY RANGE: $23.00 to $35.00 per hour based upon qualifications plus a Northern Allowance based on a percentage of the wage.

HOURS OF WORK: Full-time - 40 hours per week. This position is required to work a variety of shifts including days, evenings, weekends, overnights and holidays, as well as the ability to be on call.
