Position Overview

As a Program Planning & Implementation Steward, you will provide leadership and oversight to staff and external subcontractors through a framework for operating the Seniors Services Home Maintenance (SSHM) program. You will manage the budget and develop procedures, protocols, and policies for the SSHM program, in addition to crafting contracts, governance structures, planning documents, and business rules. Primary duties include:

  • Deliver strategic planning for the overall SSHM initiative through the creation of business processes and procedures.
  • Develop service models that maximize efficiency, effectiveness, and excellence.
  • Oversee work area budget and provide functional direction to program staff.
  • Recruit and retain subcontractors who deliver home maintenance services; ensure service is delivered and provide payment for services.
  • Facilitate incoming revenue and outgoing payments, balance budgets, accruals, and reconciliations.
  • Seek funding opportunities, write funding proposals and financial status reports.

Qualifications

  • A degree in a field that is specific to leadership, political studies, Public Administration, strategy or Human Services and at least 5 years of experience is required.
  • A strong understanding of the seniors' services sector is considered an asset.
  • Strong leadership, collaboration, strategic planning and analytical thinking skills.
  • Demonstrated political acumen and communication while working with all orders of government and elected officials.

Pre-employment Requirements

  • A security clearance will be conducted.
  • Successful applicants must provide proof of qualifications.

  • Days of Work: This position typically works a 5 day work week, with 1 day off in each 3 week cycle.
