ABOUT THE ROLE:

Are you passionate about driving innovation and fostering talent? As the Program Manager, Retail Talent & Training, you will be at the heart of our efforts to design and deliver impactful Talent and Training Programs across Canada and the US. You will collaborate closely with the Store Experience and Optimization teams, as well as the Field Support Center (FSC) Departments, to ensure our programs are successful and aligned with our business objectives. In this role, you will build and maintain strong relationships with business partners, drive transparency and accountability through effective tracking and reporting, influence various levels of the organization with your innovative and constructive approach, and orchestrate, develop, optimize, and report on Retail Talent, Training, and Instructional Design programs. Additionally, you will collaborate with cross-functional partners to refine strategies and processes, playing a pivotal role in enhancing our Retail Focus on Client Experience through exceptional talent development and training initiatives.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

  • Acquire and thoroughly understand the organization's strategies, business issues, risks and opportunities.
  • Develop and implement Talent and Training strategies for retail. Based on departmental objectives, design, develop, deliver, and evaluate tools, resources, and programs that enhance the skills, knowledge, and behaviors of Store Employees and Leadership Teams.
  • Provide updates on the progress of talent initiatives and talent strategies.
  • Evaluate learning solutions' effectiveness, measure return on investment, track business impact, and achieve goals by planning, implementing, monitoring progress, and overcoming barriers.
  • Collaborate with Retail Operations, Linguistics, Retail Communications, and Labour Planning to meet business objectives, ensure accuracy, address language considerations, and fulfill leadership needs.
  • Enhance processes by identifying gaps and implementing efficiency tools, focusing on key projects like Store Leadership Development Programs, New Store Opening Onboarding, and Content Integration.

Program/project management:

  • Plan and lead complex projects by setting clear objectives, scope, governance, and deliverables, while handling changes, priorities, budget, and time constraints.
  • Meticulously document each project phase, ensuring comprehensive and accurate records, including risk assessments.
  • Proactively identify and assess project risks throughout the project life cycle, effectively communicate their impact, and propose mitigation strategies to key partners.

Continuous improvement initiatives:

  • Identify and implement opportunities to streamline and enhance end-to-end processes.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional leaders to integrate best practices from North American and global partners.
  • Support Talent, Training, and Instructional Design initiatives by using meaningful metrics and ensuring data integrity.
  • Conduct market research on the Talent landscape, maintain a strong understanding of industry trends and competition, and share relevant insights with the business.

WHAT YOU'LL BRING:

  • 5-7 years' experience in Learning, Talent Development; Instructional Design experience considered a plus.
  • 5+ years of project management experience with excellent project management, prioritization, and planning skills.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or Human Resources, or relevant business experience and/or certifications.
  • Experience in the retail and/or hospitality industry considered an asset.
  • You are adaptable, thrive in a fast-paced environment, and relish in working collaboratively with cross-functional partners at all levels of the organization to drive shared success.
  • Demonstrates a high degree of initiative, a sense of urgency, and a confident attitude towards challenging the status quo.
  • Strong eye for business, with a dynamic ability to be agile, learn quickly, and adapt seamlessly to new and unfamiliar subject areas.
  • You pay attention to detail and love using your analytical skills to solve complex or ambiguous problems.
  • You are tech savvy and proficient in Microsoft Excel, Tableau, Smartsheet, MS Project; you have experience with HRIS and Learning Management Systems (LMS).
  • You are flexible, upbeat and energetic - a self-starter with the ability to quickly build strong partnerships and effectively communicate needs and challenges.
