As the Program Manager for the Newcomer Employment Program, you will have the opportunity to lead a dynamic team, drive innovative initiatives, and make a direct impact on the labor market integration of newcomers. Reporting to the Senior Program Manager, the selected candidate will oversee the delivery of employment-related services, ensuring accessibility and inclusivity for all clients. Responsibilities include providing leadership, training, and supervision to staff, fostering a culture of equity and collaboration, and managing program expenditures. The role involves strategic planning, including the development of goals, funding proposals, and the application of EDI and GBA Plus principles to program initiatives. The Program Manager will also build relationships with stakeholders, advocate for client needs, ensure program effectiveness, maintain accurate records, and contribute to quality improvement efforts. Additionally, the position requires oversight of employment-focused activities and workshops, with a focus on supporting the economic integration of newcomers.
The ideal candidate for the Program Manager position will have a B.A. in Social Sciences or a related field, along with a Career Development Practitioners Certificate or equivalent experience. They will bring at least two years of program management experience and five years of experience in employment-related services, particularly within immigrant and refugee services in a non-profit setting.
The role requires strong leadership, a commitment to EDI, and the ability to apply GBA Plus principles in program delivery. The candidate must be proficient in managing sensitive client data, building strategic partnerships, and adapting to changing demands. Advanced computer skills and intercultural competence are essential, with a commitment to fostering inclusivity and diversity. A Class 5 Driver's License, a reliable vehicle, and First Aid certification are assets.
This role requires the incumbent to undergo a Police Information Check (PIC), and a Vulnerable Sector Check by the Ministry of Justice.
