About Us: The Fort McMurray Drug Treatment Court (DTC) is committed to offering a comprehensive alternative to incarceration for individuals with substance use disorders who have committed crimes related to their addiction. We focus on rehabilitation and reintegration through a structured, supportive environment that promotes long-term recovery and reduces recidivism. Fort McMurray Drug Treatment Court is a program based on the Alberta DTC model that integrates court intervention and treatment services to end drug-driven crime and assist participants in returning to family, work and community. Administered through Pastew Place Detox Centre, we take on the role of the Community Treatment Team. We provide intensive case management with regard to addiction treatment, connections to resources, and programming to address an individual's addiction.

Position Overview: We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Program Manager to lead the operations of the Fort McMurray Drug Treatment Court. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in criminal justice, social work, or addiction services, with a passion for supporting individuals through their recovery journey. As the Program Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing program development, client management, and stakeholder engagement to ensure the successful delivery of our services.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Program Leadership: Oversee the day-to-day operations of the Drug Treatment Court program. Ensure program compliance with all legal, ethical, and professional standards. Lead and mentor a multidisciplinary team including case managers, counselors, and support staff. Develop and implement strategies for program growth and improvement.
  2. Client Management: Monitor the progress of clients through the program, ensuring individualized treatment plans are followed. Facilitate regular team meetings to discuss client progress and address challenges. Liaise with external partners including legal professionals, healthcare providers, and social services to coordinate comprehensive care for clients.
  3. Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships with the judiciary, law enforcement, community organizations, and other stakeholders. Represent the DTC program at community events, meetings, and public forums. Prepare and present reports on program outcomes to funders, partners, and the board of directors.
  4. Administration and Reporting: Manage the program budget, ensuring efficient use of resources. Oversee the collection and analysis of data related to program performance. Prepare regular reports on program outcomes, challenges, and successes. Participate in an on-call rotation.

Qualifications:

A Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Criminal Justice, Psychology, or a related field. Minimum of 2 years experience in program management within the criminal justice system, addiction services, or social work. Strong knowledge of addiction treatment models, recovery-oriented systems of care, and the criminal justice system. Excellent leadership and team management skills. Exceptional communication, organizational, and problem-solving abilities. Ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders in a high-pressure environment. Familiarity with the Fort McMurray Community and its unique challenges is an asset.
