Principal, Finance Shared Services Transformation
Our client is a global energy company with a strong Canadian presence and a commitment to innovation, efficiency, and long-term growth. As part of an ongoing enterprise-wide transformation, they are seeking a senior program delivery leader to oversee the implementation of a multi-year Finance Shared Services (FSS) transformation.
The Opportunity
Reporting to the VP of Finance Shared Services, the Principal, FSS Transformation will serve as the lead delivery manager for this strategic initiative—accountable for the overall program timeline, budget, P&L oversight, stakeholder engagement, and communication. You’ll drive execution across business units and functions, including the integration of newly acquired entities into the evolving FSS model.
This role is ideal for a strategic and disciplined operator—someone with experience managing complex transformation programs and a strong understanding of finance operations, systems, and integration.
What You’ll Be Doing
Program Delivery & Execution
- Lead the end-to-end delivery of the Finance Shared Services transformation program
- Manage program scope, schedule, budget, and overall P&L
- Coordinate cross-functional planning and resource alignment across multiple transformation workstreams
- Drive seamless integration of newly acquired businesses into the shared services structure
Stakeholder Engagement & Governance
- Serve as the key point of contact for program sponsors and executive stakeholders
- Develop and execute communication strategies to keep internal and external stakeholders informed and aligned
- Establish and maintain strong governance practices
Process Transformation
- Identify and implement improvements to core finance processes (e.g., AP, AR, reporting, controls)
- Support the creation of scalable, standardized processes that drive efficiency and reduce risk
- Oversee process documentation, training, and long-term knowledge transfer
Leadership & Team Development
- Lead a team of Project Managers and transformation professionals
- Partner with Organizational Change Management to drive adoption and sustainment
- Foster a high-performance, service-oriented culture rooted in accountability and continuous improvement
What You Bring
- Experience leading large-scale transformation initiatives in finance, shared services, or enterprise operations
- Strong understanding of finance operations, systems, controls, and process design
- Demonstrated success managing complex program delivery, including budget, P&L, and acquisition integration
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- ERP system experience (SAP or Oracle preferred)
- CPA designation is an asset, but not required
- Ability to travel as needed
