THE ROLE:

Do you want to drive end-to-end delivery of artificial intelligence, math, computer vision, and communication libraries to enable high performance computing and artificial intelligence? AMD is searching for a talented and motivated Program Manager to join the GPU libraries team developing libraries as part of the AMD ROCm Open Software Platform.

THE PERSON:

You are accustomed to working in a dynamic, geographically distributed agile team, where partnership and collaboration are paramount. You possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong organization, and attention to detail. With a keen interest in data, you will draw on your strong technical background, analytical capabilities, and interpersonal skills to drive process improvements, improve program operations, and engage with key partners at all levels, from driving technical discussions with developers through to communication with executives.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Work closely with Engineering Managers, Software Developers, Product Managers, and Program Managers to support project planning and execution of artificial intelligence, math, computer vision, and communication libraries.
  2. Help develop and implement effective and repeatable operational processes and procedures.
  3. Work hand-in-hand with engineering counterparts across the global sites to plan/align budget, head count, and find operational efficiencies.
  4. Work with the operations, program management, and engineering teams to develop tools and systems to track and analyze key engineering and program metrics and help drive process improvement.
  5. Participate in the development of project plans and schedules; must be able to develop and improve processes for project tracking and risk mitigation.
  6. Support engineering management with resource planning (people and materials), as well as driving execution.
  7. Improve tracking, reporting, and forecasting by developing dashboards and automations.
  8. Develop documentation and training materials.
  9. Collect, analyze, organize, and publish data via dashboards and recurring status reports.
  10. Provide general operational support for the AMD GPU libraries team.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

  1. Experience working in complex, interrelated software projects and programs using agile and waterfall methodologies.
  2. Strong data analysis and presentation skills.
  3. Comfortable with Jira and Confluence.
  4. Experience with Microsoft Project.
  5. Expert knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
  6. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  7. Strong interpersonal skills.
  8. Conflict management and stakeholder relationship management.
  9. Experience with project delivery across multiple time zones.
  10. Experience with agile methodologies such as Scrum and Kanban.
  11. Ability to lead process improvement initiatives across teams by providing training and support.
  12. Understanding of version control such as Git and GitHub.
  13. Knowledge of software development, including testing, profiling, CI/CD, debugging, documentation, issue tracking, and planning.
  14. Experience with data visualization concepts and tools such as Power BI.
  15. Experience with Business Intelligence.
  16. Knowledge of relevant domains such as high-performance computing, artificial intelligence, and GPU software development.

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:

  1. Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, or equivalent strongly preferred.
  2. Certifications such as the PMP or agile certification would be an asset.
