RECE Program Leader (Before and After Program)

Permanent, Full-time

Location: Mountview, 59 Karen Crescent, Hamilton, ON L9C 5M5

Total Weekly Hours: 34

Schedule: Monday to Friday, 6:45 AM - 9:00 AM and 2:45 PM - 6:00 PM

Pay Rate (per Collective Agreement, includes wage grants): $28.39

Internal Closing Date: April 2, 2025

Who We’re Looking For

Experience

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in early childhood program planning and implementation is preferred
  • Experience working with infants, toddlers, and preschoolers
  • Knowledge of the Child Care and Early Years Act
Education

  • Diploma in Early Childhood Education (ECE)
Certifications:

  • Member in good standing with the College of Early Childhood Educators
  • Standard First Aid with CPR Level C
  • Satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Police Check
  • Proof of up-to-date immunizations (TB, Tetanus, MMR)
  • Proof of COVID-19 vaccinations
Skills and Attributes

  • Strong leadership and mentoring skills
  • In-depth understanding of How Does Learning Happen framework
  • Proficient in behavioral guidance techniques for young children
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively and independently in a fast-paced environment
  • Commitment to diversity, equality, and inclusion
Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, implement, and evaluate age-appropriate experiences to foster children’s cognitive, physical, social, and emotional development
  • Supervise children in your care to ensure their safety and well-being
  • Organize indoor and outdoor play spaces, creating a warm and welcoming environment
  • Conduct daily health and wellness checks for each child, documenting observations and reporting concerns to the Supervisor
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with families, staff, and Hamilton-Wentworth District School Board faculty
  • Provide age-appropriate developmental activities that support children’s overall growth and learning
