Nishnawbe-Aski Legal Services Corporation Employment Opportunity

Nishnawbe-Aski Legal Services Corporation is presently recruiting for a position in Timmins, ON.

The Talking Together program utilizes a traditional/alternative justice approach to resolving child welfare/family matters to avoid unnecessary litigation. The process used is the Circle, empowering families to arrive at acceptable resolutions to child welfare matters. Circles are arranged and conducted by a Talking Together Facilitator.

Qualifications:

  1. Ability to speak the language and knowledge of culture is an asset.
  2. Experience and knowledge of the child welfare system is an asset.
  3. This position requires at a minimum a secondary school diploma with related work experience.
  4. Preferred qualifications include a post-secondary degree or diploma in social work, child and family worker program, mental health, or related fields.
  5. Experience working with NAN and in First Nation Communities.
  6. Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
  7. Travel will be required to Treaty 9 Communities.
  8. Proficient working knowledge of MS Office Software, Internet, and general office equipment.
  9. Training will be provided.

Location: Timmins, ON

Hours: Full Time (35 Hours Per Week)

Salary: In accordance with established pay grid and commensurate with education/experience
