About Us

The Maintenance Enforcement and Victim Services Division of the Department of Justice helps facilitate court-ordered child and spousal support and offers a range of services to help victims of crime. Within Victim Services, we promote victims' rights and interests and advise government on issues relating to victims of crime. We also work with justice partners and the community to develop policies and programs that address the needs of crime victims. We provide the victim, spouse, or relative with information, support, and assistance as their case moves through the criminal justice system.

About Our Opportunity

As the Program Coordinator, you are responsible for the coordination/administration of programs and initiatives that require innovative approaches, impacting multiple functions and/or overall business results with the division or department. Responsibilities may include promotion, interpretation of a variety of programs, assessment of applications, monitoring of client files and program status, promoting and/or provision of information related to program management.

Primary Accountabilities

  • Focus on Workplace Occupational Health and Safety files from within the province as a priority
  • Assist in managing projects and initiatives based on program needs
  • Use case management systems and other established management processes, procedures, and protocols
  • Assist in the review and assessment of applications, preparation, evaluation, and award of counselling grants to clients
  • Follow existing procedures to support the operation of the programs
  • Review counsellor applications in request to become approved counsellors
  • Coordinate and prepare documentation, communications for review and approval, while following up on pending issues
  • Track and report status of applicant and client files, projects, and programs
  • Produce accurate reports by collecting data from a variety of sources and inputting the data into standardized formats
  • Review program material to ensure all required information is captured
  • Coordinate Victim Impact Statement Travel Fund agreements
  • Support internal/external communication in responding to queries and issues from clients and counsellors, providing guidance and clarification regarding programs

Qualifications and Experience

To be considered for this opportunity, you have a bachelor's degree in a related field and at least one year of experience in client services in the community, with specialized exposure to the criminal justice and/or counseling fields (or an acceptable equivalent). You are effective at managing and prioritizing a heavy workload effectively with excellent case management skills. In addition, you have strong organizational skills and undertake delegated tasks while working independently. Competency in mediating complaints and proactively identifying and addressing the needs and concerns of program users will be important in this role.

Equivalency

Include, but not limited to:

  • Master's degree in a related field
  • Two-year diploma and three years of related work experience
  • Five years of related experience without any post-secondary education

Pay Grade: PR 06- PR 10

Salary Range: $1,924.95- $2,760.42 Bi-Weekly
