Catholic Social Services is currently recruiting for a full-time (40 hours/week), Program Coordinator in Housing at our Red Deer Immigration and Settlement Service office.
Job Summary:
Supporting the delivery of Immigration and Settlement Service’s (ISS) programs. This may include, but is not limited to, coordinating program activities, conducting research and assisting with report writing, liaising with key community stakeholders, engaging in program promotional activities, and performing administrative duties as required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate the delivery of program activities geared towards supporting newcomers’ settlement and integration process in Canada (e.g., delivering information sessions, presentations; facilitating client focus groups; etc.).
- Keep accurate records and statistics related to program activities.
- Promptly respond to inquiries from clients, staff, volunteers, and the public.
- Follow up with clients and educate about rental property maintenance.
- Keep the team leader informed about rental market trends.
- Ensure properties are move-in ready before clients check out of temporary accommodation.
- Book Settlement Support Workers for hygiene, house maintenance, and appliance orientation.
- Develop and facilitate orientation sessions/presentations.
- Build working relationships with property owners and rental companies.
- Maintain a list of available properties.
- Build and use a questionnaire for property owners/companies to fill out.
- Obtain information about recent trends and issues related to housing/utilities/municipal, federal, and national updates/trends.
- Advocate on clients' behalf if issues arise.
- Stay updated about landlord and tenant law.
- Possess good experience working with Excel/Word/PowerPoint.
- Work closely with other organizations in the community that work with housing.
- Meet tight deadlines aligning with the move out of temporary accommodation of clients.
- Coordinate furniture orders and oversee the order process.
- Perform other related duties as required.
What This Job Requires:- A related Degree/Diploma in a Human Services discipline.
- 2 years’ experience working in an administrative role.
- Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office.
- Knowledge of community resources.
- Experience working with newcomers to Canada is considered an asset.
- Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
- Detail-oriented and organized.
- Vulnerable Sector Check from local RCMP or City Police.
- Child Intervention Record Check.
- Experience building effective partnerships and collaborations.
- Experience in doing research, working with data, and writing reports.
