Job Title: Afternoon Production Supervisor

Position Overview

Cedar Valley is seeking an experienced and results-driven Production Supervisor to oversee operations during the afternoon shift. The Production Supervisor will be responsible for managing and directing staff, maximizing production output, and ensuring that production targets are consistently met. This role requires strong leadership skills, experience in food manufacturing, and a proven ability to drive operational efficiency while maintaining quality and safety standards.

Job Type: Full-Time

Schedule: Afternoons 2pm-10pm

Pay: $50,000 CAD salary

Benefits: Health, Dental, Vision package

Time off: 2 weeks paid vacation

A Day In The Life - Your Role + Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and coordinate the activities of production workers engaged in operating machinery and equipment to produce snack foods.
  • Monitor production schedules and adjust workflow as needed to meet production targets and customer demands.
  • Ensure that all production processes adhere to quality standards and safety regulations.
  • Lead and motivate a team of production workers, providing guidance, training, and performance feedback.
  • Foster a positive work environment that promotes teamwork, efficiency, and safety.
  • Conduct regular inspections and quality checks to verify that products meet specifications and regulatory requirements.
  • Implement corrective actions and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality and production efficiency.
  • Collaborate with maintenance staff to ensure that machinery and equipment are properly maintained and repaired.
  • Enforce safety protocols and procedures to prevent accidents and ensure a safe working environment for all employees.
  • Monitor raw material inventory levels and coordinate with procurement to ensure adequate supply.
  • Maintain accurate production records, including production output, downtime, and quality control measures.
  • Prepare reports and presentations for management regarding production performance and operational efficiency.

Perform any other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a food manufacturing environment, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or management role.
  • Proven experience in maximizing production output and meeting production targets.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate staff and drive performance.
  • Solid understanding of food safety regulations and quality control practices, including HACCP, BRC, and GMP standards.
  • Proven ability to manage and optimize production schedules, staff resources, and equipment utilization.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure to meet production deadlines.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, etc.) and experience with production management software.
  • Proficient in English
