Production Supervisor

Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Production Supervisor to join our team. In this role, you will primarily be responsible for supervising and coordinating daily production activities associated with our production paint line. You will serve as the direct report for the plant and lead personnel, along with monitoring operations for efficiency, quality, and safety. You will be required to assist with production schedules, assignment and delegation of staff and tasks, as well as collaborate with front line staff and the management team to resolve problems related to quality, staff performance, and equipment.

Responsibilities

1. Monitor production for efficiency and quality – escalate quality issues and defects accordingly.
2. Oversee production staff and take part in hiring/training of production staff as required.
3. Assist with onboarding and orientation of new personnel.
4. Provide coaching and counselling as part of the progressive discipline policy as it relates to performance and attendance of production staff.
5. Assist with scheduling of plant personnel.
6. Participate in daily team huddles, Joint Health and Safety Committee activities, and management meetings as required.
7. Overall, ensure compliance of personnel with corporate policies, procedures, and safety standards – and report any issues or non-compliance accordingly.

Skills

1. Results Orientation – attention to detail, quality, and ability to resolve/escalate issues with product defects.
2. Teamwork – ability to work with frontline personnel and leadership team.
3. Problem-solving ability and provide leadership to frontline staff.
4. Knowledge of raw materials, paint production process, quality control, air tools/hand tools, and general safety policies and procedures related to the plant environment required.
5. Valid forklift certification an asset.
6. Previous supervisory experience preferred.

Education:

1. AEC / DEP or Skilled Trade Certificate (preferred)

Experience:

1. Supervisor: 2 years (required)
2. Manufacturing: 2 years (required)
