THE ROLE

The Production Supervisor ensures a high level of service to Canadian Linen customers through order fulfillment while maintaining overall profitability by managing safety, productivity, accuracy, turnover, and training within the department. The Production Supervisor maximizes customer satisfaction and minimizes costs by managing the proper level of trained and scheduled staff to meet the capacity demands throughout the annual business cycle.

What you’ll do:

  • Plans and coordinates the daily activities of department. Adjust work assignments and workflow as necessary to meet production demands and schedules.
  • Ensures appropriate staffing levels. Conducts employee evaluations, maintains personnel records, and recommends hiring and disciplinary action of employees as necessary.
  • Resolves personnel problems by analyzing data, investigating issues, identifying solutions, and recommending action.
  • Consistently reviews work performance with employees.
  • Evaluates new hire performance based on learning curves.
  • Ensures employees are following production procedures through formal and informal observations.
  • Understands and manages costs as it relates to the department or area.
  • Coordinates work needs with other distribution departments.
  • Processes daily/monthly reports on quality, productivity, and other areas as required.
  • Responsible for safety and security within department, to include maintaining a safe and clean work environment.
  • Provides training, development, and cross train employees on applicable work methods and operations.
  • Develops talent through projects and additional assignments.
  • Updates and adds work procedures (SOPs) for all operations in the department.
  • Works towards achieving departmental and personal goals developed in conjunction with department managers.
  • Maintains an environment based on trust, open communication, creative thinking, and cohesive team effort.
  • Leads by setting a good example; behavior consistent with words.
  • Creates and supports a culture of adherence to branch standardization in support of, financial, service, and safety goals.
  • Other duties as assigned by general manager or manager.

We are looking for individuals who have:

  • Two (2) years of industrial experience in a leadership capacity in a production and/or manufacturing environment.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field or equivalent experience.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Strong computer skills to include MS Office: Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Manage multiple priorities against tight deadlines.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills.
  • Able to stand and/or walk for long periods of time.
  • Ability to instruct/teach.
  • Complete work in a timely manner as well as the ability to meet deadlines.
  • Maintain a positive attitude in the workplace.
  • Maintain confidentiality.
  • Work a flexible schedule (shifts/hours) with notice.
  • Work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Basic Math reasoning skills.
  • Lifting Ability; up to 100 pounds; Push/Pull Ability; up to 300 pounds assisted.
  • Capability to work in a fast paced, loud work environment in a safe and conscientious manner.
  • Ability to supervise employees and maintain positive employee relations.
  • Read, interpret and apply procedural, maintenance, and policy information.
  • Apply logic and reasoning in addressing technical, operational and employee-related issues.
  • Proven record of work attendance.
  • Spoken familiarity with prevalent language of distribution, warehouse and production team.

Compensation: The salary rate that Canadian Linen and Uniform Service reasonably expects to pay for this position is approximately $51,500, depending on circumstances including an applicant’s skills and qualifications, certain degrees and certifications, prior job experience, market data, and other relevant factors. Additional compensation may include a bonus.
