About Us:
Diesel Electric Services, driven by our commitment to "Safety - Quality - Service," is a leader in the locomotive maintenance sector, proudly serving clients including Class 1 Railways, Passenger Service, Short Lines, and industrial complexes such as CN Rail, VIA Canada, CPKC, VALE, and Glencore. We are currently seeking an experienced and motivated Production Supervisor to join our dynamic team and oversee the daily operations of our locomotive shops.

Position Overview:
As a Production Supervisor, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of our locomotive shops. You will lead a team of skilled workers, coordinate production schedules, maintain safety standards, and ensure that quality benchmarks are met or exceeded.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Supervise and coordinate the activities of the production team in the locomotive shops.
  2. Monitor production schedules and workflows to meet deadlines and maintain productivity.
  3. Ensure adherence to safety standards and regulations.
  4. Provide training and mentorship to team members, fostering a positive and efficient work environment.
  5. Collaborate with other departments to optimize processes and improve production quality.
  6. Troubleshoot production issues and implement corrective measures promptly.
  7. Maintain accurate records and reports on production progress and employee performance.
  8. Must have a safety mindset and apply safety measures on a daily basis.

Qualifications:

  1. Proven experience in a supervisory role within an industrial shop environment.
  2. Strong understanding of production processes, mechanical systems, and industry standards.
  3. Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  4. Ability to manage and motivate a diverse team in a fast-paced environment.
  5. Locomotive and/or railway experience would be an asset.
  6. Bi-lingual language skills in English and French would be considered an asset.
  7. Licensed in mechanics or electrical would be an asset.
