The Production Supervisor partners with the production manager to lead, teach, coach, and mentor operations personnel. This role leads 2 - 10 employees in the production process. Responsibilities include:

  1. Performing complex rework and first article builds of the highest complexity parts;
  2. Training employees;
  3. Planning, assigning, and directing work;
  4. Providing input/assistance in the appraisal of employee performance;
  5. Addressing complaints and issue resolution.

Promotes lean manufacturing and continuous improvement processes. The Supervisor in this role is expected to build and fabricate parts while also maintaining their leadership responsibilities of the team.

Responsibilities:

  1. Assumes responsibility for the development and implementation of effective production Department planning, policies, and procedures:
  2. Assists Production Manager in developing short and long-term goals and objectives and provides suggestions and recommendations.
  3. Participates in developing Department policies and procedures and ensures that they support and complement Company-wide strategic objectives.
  4. Conducts periodic reviews of existing policies. Ensures that policies are updated and in accordance with evolving production and quality standards.

Assumes responsibility for the efficient, timely, and accurate completion of Production functions:

  1. Build, fabricate and repair parts. Build first article and initial production runs of highest complexity parts.
  2. Oversees production and assembly processes. Supervises assembly, inspection, and shipment of products.
  3. Monitors and supervises production quality and inspection of products. Identifies problems and resolves them quickly and effectively.
  4. Regulates work flow to ensure maximum production capacity. Monitors the floor production schedule to ensure that products are completed according to deadlines.
  5. Ensures that Production functions are completed in accordance with established production, safety, and quality standards.

Effectively supervises assigned personnel, ensuring optimal performance:

  1. Provides leadership through effective goal setting, delegation, and communication.
  2. Directs and assigns personnel. Provides assistance and support as needed.
  3. Trains, advises, and counsels employees on current production methods. Provides suggestions to improve performance and productivity.
  4. Provides input on personnel decisions and performance appraisals.

Education: Associate's degree or equivalent experience (+2 years)

Knowledge: Strong understanding of production procedures, standards, and knowledge of Quality Control Standards and systems.

Experience: 3 or more years of experience in a manufacturing environment, plus a minimum of 1 year of leadership experience in a manufacturing environment.

Computer Skill: Proficient use of Microsoft Word, Excel, email, ERP system.

Other Skills: Well organized, planning and time management skills, quality oriented, problem solving. Ability to lead teams, conduct meetings, give direction/delegate, and train/coach/mentor employees.
