We have an immediate salaried opening for a Production Supervisor in the Edmonton IC plant.
Reporting directly to the Production Manager, the Production Supervisor is responsible for the implementation of selected PRIME innovation projects (including Cost-out and supplier qualification), ensuring flawless product industrialization transitions and acting as an AOS Operational Line Lead.
In this role, the Production Supervisor is the manufacturing main point of contact for the in/out transitions on individual product SKUs. In respect of the New Product Introduction process (NPI) and Discontinuation process (DISCO), this person ensures coordination with the different groups involved outside the manufacturing organization (marketing, R&D, supply chain, Procurement, etc.) and inside the manufacturing organization (S&OP, production, quality, etc.).

What’s involved in this role
- Key duties will include tracking project progress and liaising with the business;
- Coordinate the plant effort to understand, install and start-up the scope of an NPI and leverage plant AOS methodologies to deliver proper quality, on time, in the correct amount, safely;
- Assisting I&PD in setting up trials (making sure there are supplies, time on the line, etc.) to ensure trials are successful;
- Coordinate the plant effort to remove SKUs from production including materials and ingredients;
- In collaboration with Innovation and Product Development to rationalize active ingredient inventory;
- Accountable for “Plant” deliverables;
- Line efficiencies to deliver required volumes;
- Line improvements/losses – Looking at ways to minimize line losses throughout the plant;
- Coordinate project teams and ensure projects meet their objectives by using a servant leadership approach;
- Lead by influence and excel in project management;
- Communicate clearly with the different stakeholders, mobilize people and drive change management;
- Own incident RCA. Act quickly when issues arise, define the course of action and drive the action plan until resolution;
- Coaches teams on Centerline execution and problem-solving skills;
- Supports safety initiatives (i.e. safety observation program);
- Coordinate training and development of team with a coaching approach;
- Autonomous and able to develop own plan and priorities;
- Creation and management of standards and standardized work;
- Works toward achievement of KPIs;
- Owns Dept SOPs and Job Instructions;
- May have to be involved in Operational & CAPEX projects deployment on site.
Base Schedule: It is a 24/7 Monday - Friday facility, but we can be flexible on the schedule.
What you need to join our team
- Bachelor's degree and/or equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be considered;
- 3 to 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment required (ideally within the food industry);
- Proven track record of implementing multi-disciplinary development & Innovation projects in a multi-stakeholder environment;
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team;
- Proficient in Excel and other Microsoft programs;
- Demonstrates strong leadership and coaching skills;
- Thorough and well organized;
- Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing and knowledge of continuous improvement tools (an asset).
